Jennifer and Mike were an online dating success story. After meeting on PlentyofFish.com the couple set up their first meeting within a month. “On our first date we spent six hours talking and laughing. It only took two days for us to see each other again and at that point it seemed obvious to both of us that we needed to pursue the relationship further,” Jennifer shared.

After two years of dating, including nine months of a long-distance relationship, Mike proposed.

Beer-themed Oktoberfest Tampa, Fl Wedding – Davis Island Garden Club

Jennifer grew up in Tampa Bay area and hosted her wedding at Tampa wedding venue, Davis Island Garden Club. “We wanted to have both the reception and ceremony at the same place as most of our guests were from out of town. We looked at the outdoor area of the gazebo at the Davis Island Garden Club. We were able to set up boat rides from the Sheraton Riverwalk to the venue so most of our guests did not even have to drive,” the bride said.

Jennifer and Mike incorporated their love for beer by holding an Oktoberfest-themed wedding. “We both love beer and my husband is starting to brew and we are always planning for the next beer festival. We brought in kegs of our favorite beers and had pint glasses as our favors for our guests,” Jennifer shared. “The elements that were most important to us were good food and drinks and having a fun reception.

Since the pair currently live in Georgia, they hired Tampa wedding planner Simply Divine Events. On her wedding planner’s recommendation, Jennifer relied on Tampa wedding photographer Victor’s Photojournalism to capture her big day. “I was looking for nice quality with different shots and in my price range, and Victor fit the bill all the way,” Jennifer explained.

What advice do you have for other Tampa Bay brides?
My advice is to get a wedding planner and take your time. I spent about 14 months planning mine.
