Todd and Scott’s eclectic downtown St. Pete wedding was filled with touches of their unique personality, a black and blue color palette, and their sweet Boston Terrier, Banksy.
As a trusted resource in the Tampa Bay area, the grooms canvassed Marry Me Tampa Bay for inspiration.
“We were very minimal with the overall design. We used Marry Me Tampa Bay for inspiration when planning the wedding,” Todd shared. “Looking for details that really matched our personality was important which is part of the reason we incorporated accents of concert posters and Parks and Recreation references scattered throughout the venue. It definitely was a reference to our proposal and mutual love for the show!”
Service and versatility played a large role in choosing just the right venue and circling back to Station House was one of the best decisions the couple made. With its unconventional charm and ability to accommodate their 100-person guest list, Todd and Scott knew their dream wedding would be just as they had imagined.
“We went to an event at Station House a few years prior and fell in love with it. We always said that if we were ever to get married it would be there. Each floor has a different personality and flexibility that many venues simply did not have,” the groom gushed. “The service we received was phenomenal. We felt very looked after from the moment we booked, and the team from Station House was supportive and understanding throughout. They helped all of our wishes come true and even made sure our Boston Terrier, Banksy, was in attendance as the ring barrier.”

After the Florida sky opened up with an afternoon rainstorm, the couple had to quickly adjust to make sure nothing stood in the way of nailing their moody industrial vision.
“Our wedding was initially supposed to be outdoors on the 4th floor of our venue, but it decided to rain all day, and we had to make some quick adjustments,” Todd shared. “Luckily with the help of Emily, the Events Director from Station House, we were able to move everything indoors to the first floor.”
Since both grooms have a passion for music, finding a St. Pete wedding DJ who could cater to a variety of music tastes was a must.
“Grant Hemond & Associates was referred to us by our venue, and we were extremely pleased with them,” the groom shared. “We were especially impressed with their ability to read the room and not only play the songs we requested but also select appropriate songs and artists for the crowd.”

Feeling on cloud nine, the couple was especially blown away by a special wedding message from someone they both admire.
“The most memorable moment for both us of was by far was the wedding ceremony,” Todd reminisced. “Not only were we surrounded by so much love, but we also received a very special song recorded by a music artist named Julien Baker.”
The Proposal:
The proposal took place at exactly midnight on January 1, at EPCOT in Orlando, where Scott quoted April Ludgate’s wedding vows from the tv show Parks and Recreation followed by an actual proposal.
What did you look for in a wedding venue?
Unconventional, with character yet eccentric. We went to an event at Station House a few years prior and fell in love with it. We always said that if we were ever to get married it would be there. Each floor has a different personality and flexibility that many venues simply did not have. The service we received was phenomenal. We felt very looked after from the moment we booked and the team from Station House was supportive and understanding throughout. They helped all of our wishes come true and even made sure our Boston Terrier, Banksy was in attendance as the ring barrier.
Our food was catered by Ichicoro Ane, and we could not have been more pleased with the variety of food options, cost-effectiveness, and service overall. The food was incredible! Every dish was flawless, and Ichicoro was happy to accommodate our specific dietary needs for our guests.
How would you describe your wedding design inspiration?
We were very minimal with the overall design. Looking for details that really matched our personality was important which is part of the reason we incorporated accents of concert posters and Parks and Recreation references scattered throughout the venue. It definitely was a reference to our proposal and mutual love for the show.
What were your colors?
Black and dark blue. We chose them based on our personalities, where Scott is the darker, quieter of the two and Todd’s favorite color is blue.
What did you look for in a wedding DJ?
We wanted a DJ who was flexible and was willing to play music for an audience of very eclectic tastes, most of which were not typical pop music.
Grant Hemond & Associates was referred to us by Station House, and we were extremely pleased with them. We were especially impressed with their ability to read the room and not only play the songs we requested, but also select appropriate songs and artists for the crowd.
What advice would you give to other Tampa Bay couples?
Don’t stress, have fun. Always have a contingency plan, especially with an outdoor wedding!
