Alyssa and Zach’s destination Clearwater Beach wedding embraced a romantic palette of mauve and navy complemented by a matching floral display and clean white linens. Evoking the freshness of spring and a touch of boho, the rooftop wedding took place 16-stories above the Tripadvior’s best beach in the U.S. framed by the turquoise waters of the Gulf under the warm Florida sunshine.
“I would describe my wedding theme as neutral, spring, clean vibes with a touch of bohemian. I found my inspiration for the florals and decor via Pinterest and fell in love with the colors,” the bride shared. “The girls were in mauve, and the boys were in blue suits. I always loved the look of a neutral mauve color and felt like it went beautifully with blue suits!
The Colorado couple traveled to the Sunshine State to host their 130-person May waterfront wedding and researched venues on Marry Me Tampa Bay.
“We chose Clearwater Beach for the gorgeous beach and fun atmosphere,” the bride revealed. “Prior to picking our venue, I definitely used Marry Me Tampa Bay to get the details about various options in the Tampa Bay area. I was able to narrow down which venues I wanted to tour with help from this blog.”
The destination bride and groom wanted the ambiance of a beach wedding without the sand and selected the Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach. With the proximity to the beach and Gulf of Mexico and the convenience of having everything in one location for the entire weekend, Alyssa and Zach appreciated the hotel’s inclusive service as much as they did the atmosphere.
“This was a destination wedding for most of our guests, so it was really important that we had a venue that could host both the ceremony and reception so that we didn’t have to travel around all day. I have always loved the idea of getting married near a beach but didn’t want to walk down the aisle in the sand, so the 16th-floor terrace with a breathtaking view was a perfect find. The terrace is absolutely breathtaking, the 8th-floor pool looked like a perfect location to host a post-wedding pool party, the room rates were reasonable, and the hotel itself was stunning! We truly feel like we could not have picked a better venue. We still have guests raving about their stay at the Hyatt and how amazing the staff was!” the bride gushed. “Their service was top-notch. Throughout the entire planning process, Lizzie was my go-to gal! She never left me stranded on any questions I had and was such a dream to work with! She’s the best and made everything so easy when I was living so far away from our venue!
Wearing a stunning deep illusion v-neck gown, the bride made her way down the aisle, with her hair styled in a relaxed bun and her face adorned with radiant makeup by Femme Akoi Beauty Studio. To capture the essence of their wedding, Alyssa and Zach turned to Lifelong Photography Studio for their trustworthiness and expertise.
“I didn’t have many prerequisites or specific things that I was looking for in a photographer, so I mostly searched for photographers with good reviews and saw that Lifelong Photography had so many people raving about them,” the bride beamed. “Lifelong Photography was absolutely incredible. I had a phone call with them before booking their services, and they seemed extremely knowledgeable and professional. They were receptive to all of my questions and made me feel like they were going to take care of everything. I felt a complete sense of trust in them! On the day of our wedding, Buffy was a true rockstar. She took charge of directing photos and had endless ideas and inspiration. The photos were stunning.”
Reflecting on the day’s events, Alyssa’s most cherished memory was the first look, when the bride and groom savored the private moment in each other’s quiet company.
“The most memorable moment was our first look at the 16th-floor terrace. It was so intimate that we could read our vows to each other before walking down the aisle. It was one of our only moments the entire day that we spent just us two,” the bride reminisced.
What was your wedding hair and makeup inspiration for your wedding?
I really wanted to look like myself on my wedding day, but just slightly more glammed. Given that we were in a beach town, I wanted a loose bun and dewey makeup, and that’s just what Monica of Femme Akoi Beauty Studio delivered! They all did an incredible job; my girls looked stunning!
The Proposal:
Zach and I traveled to Cancun, Mexico with my family, and he proposed on the first night, with just the two of us! It was very intimate and special. We then spent the entire week celebrating with my family.
