Indira and Forrest’s captivating St. Petersburg wedding unfolded amidst the enchanting embrace of a botanical garden, surrounded by nature’s beauty and framed picturesquely. The May nuptials set the stage for an outdoor tented reception, providing an air of elegance and charm.
“Our wedding inspiration was garden, live plants, and flowers,” the bride shared. “We chose our main color to be sage. It is the best color for the summer.”
Keeping their celebration local, the Sarasota couple, captivated by the allure of Florida, aimed to include their love for the state. The decision to host a garden wedding felt like the most fitting plan for their 80-guest celebration.
Seeking to perfectly capture their love story, Indira hired Iyrus Weddings for photography and videography, ensuring the moments of the day would be documented in a cohesive style. The owner, Will DeCosta, impressed the couple with his relaxed personality and creative vision, resulting in wedding memories that were wow-worthy.
“We looked for a company that could do both photography and videography. Will has a good personality, and he understood us well! We liked his photography work,” the bride revealed. “Iyrus Weddings is what we were searching for. Their service at the wedding was our best decision.”
“Sunken Gardens is such a beautiful place for a wedding. The gardens and landscaping are some of my favorite places to photograph my couples. Indira and Forrest were so carefree when it came to poses, and the photos came out amazing! They definitely nailed it!” Iyrus Weddings owner Will DeCosta beamed. “From the decor to the amazing landscaping at Sunken Gardens to all the little details, every little thing was thought of. The couple did a great job adding some fun cultural aspects from Indira’s culture.”
As the ceremony began, the couple treated their guests to the melodies of a live classical duet, creating an ambiance as the wedding party gracefully made their way down the aisle. Embracing tradition, Indira adorned a blusher veil that complemented her off-the-shoulder applique-adorned dress.
Following the ceremony, the transition to cocktail hour unfolded in the Oak Pavilion, where guests noshed on passed hors d’oeuvres, such as Sesame Chicken Skewers, Zucchini Wrapped Lamb Meatballs, and Shrimp Cocktail Shooters with Wasabi-Guacamole and Bloody Mary Cocktail Sauce. The night unfolded beneath the soft glow of twinkling bistro lights strung throughout the tent, with exceptional food and service provided by Olympia Catering.
“First and foremost, we looked for good taste. We wanted a catering company that was organized and their menu was exceptional,” Indira beamed. “All of our appetizer options were so tasty!”
To keep an elegant tone, a classic car served as the perfect entrance to their wedding site. Reflecting on the romance that unfolded throughout the day, the first dance was the star moment.
“Our first dance was the most memorable part of the wedding day. We chose Ronan Keating’s To Be Loved. We love the lyrics in this song,” the bride beamed.
