Leonor & Lugo’s Love Story:
Lugo and I have been together since we were in 8th grade, August 31, 2001 to be exact.
We moved in together the summer of 2006.
We always wanted to get married, but weddings can be expensive, so we waited to be able to have our dream wedding.
Lugo proposed on April 4, 2010. I came home and there were lit candles everywhere. He got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. Of course I said “YES!”
Now that Leonor and Lugo were finally ready to plan their dream wedding, they needed their dream wedding venue.
“We had been looking everywhere for a venue. I think that was one of the main reasons we took so long to get married. I couldn’t find the perfect place. Everything was too big, or not pretty enough, no character, weird carpets. You know all the crazy things that us brides look at,” the bride shared. “I was specifically looking for the brick walls and wood beam ceilings. I found NOVA 535 and scheduled an appointment to ‘just look.’ We met Michael, the owner, and we fell in love with the venue. The space is visually stunning!”
Even with the Tampa Bay couple’s large family in attendance, Leonor wanted to create an intimate, romantic atmosphere.
“Our colors were very light shades of ivory, rose petal pink and gold. That was mainly the girly girl in me that wanted a very pretty wedding,” the bride explained. “My husband has a big personality and would’ve probably chosen camo colored table cloths!”
The pair reflected their personalities into their St. Pete wedding with their choices in food, music and drinks.
“Our wedding was special because it was our wedding. Everyone had a lot of fun. We love to eat, drink and be married!” the bride exclaimed.
Looking back, Leonor shared that her most memorable moment came during her wedding ceremony.
“Our ceremony was great. We had so many loved one there to witness our vows to one another,” the bride reminisced.
“All of our vendors were so great. I think we got really lucky, we worked with such amazing businesses.” – The Bride

“My favorite part about holding our wedding at NOVA 535 was the service that we and our family received. The staff at NOVA 535 went above and beyond to make our day perfect, and Michael, the owner, was excellent throughout the entire process. The venue is fab! Everyone loved it.” – The Bride
What advice would you give to other Tampa Bay Brides?
Do some research on the vendors you are working with. (Choose mine! They’re the best!)
Don’t let the planning process overwhelm you. When it comes down to your wedding day…enjoy it…if goes by so fast.
Make a timeline of your wedding day and give everyone copies. Don’t choose or do anything that you have second thoughts about.
Explain to your vendors what you want and what your budget is. Most of them will work with you.
