Industrial Dusty Blue Downtown St. Pete Wedding | NOVA 535

Tampa Bay Best Local Wedding Venue 2021

Megan and Timothy's downtown St. Pete wedding was a stunning soirée that took a soft simplistic color palette of dusty blue and sage green and intertwined it with the industrial charm of their historic wedding venue. In exchange for a traditional sit-down dinner, multiple food trucks provided tasty bites throughout the night while the bride and groom placed an emphasis on dancing the night away.

“I would describe our wedding theme and design inspiration as simplistic and industrial. I did not want to worry about all of the details of over the top decorations. I felt like the industrial brick look was the perfect way to have a beautiful wedding without having to worry about the details of decorations,” the bride explained. “Our color scheme was dusty blue, white, and sage green. I just love dusty blue and felt like it was a color that all of the wedding party would look good wearing. We also had the sage green because I love the look of all of the eucalyptus leaves in flower bouquets.”

Seeking a St. Petersburg wedding venue large enough to accommodate their 130 guests and provide a versatile indoor space that could be easily transformed from the ceremony into reception, the couple instantly fell in love with the historic charm of NOVA 535.

When searching for a wedding venue, I really wanted a unique place that had a brick industrial look and could comfortably fit all of our guests. I wanted a venue that was memorable and had as much included as possible, such as tables, chairs, linens, etc. I was also looking for a venue that was flexible with food vendors. NOVA 535 was able to provide all of this and more,” Megan beamed. “I had come across NOVA 535 online but used Marry Me Tampa Bay to find further details about them. We knew that we wanted NOVA 535 as our venue right after our very first tour. They had plenty of space, and the venue is gorgeous! I knew that I would not have to worry about having too many decorations because the space is beautiful on its own. Our wedding day ran seamlessly, and a huge part of that is because of NOVA 535’s awesome staff.”

Once the Largo couple secured their venue, they turned to Marry Me Tampa Bay to help with inspiration for their downtown St. Petersburg wedding weekend.

“I used the Marry Me Tampa Bay blog and Instagram throughout my entire wedding process. It was a huge help for me when trying to find local and reputable vendors in the area,” Megan shared. “I was able to use the blog for inspiration for wedding ideas, color schemes, and ideas of where to take our wedding party pictures.”

Desiring an experienced St. Pete wedding photographer to capture their laidback personalities, Megan and Tim fell in love with the effortless technique of Lifelong Photography Studios.

Wedding pictures were something that I really wanted to come out perfectly. I wanted to find someone who could capture our personalities while still taking beautiful pictures. I was also looking for someone who was professional and reputable and knew how to make us feel comfortable,” the bride detailed. “After spending hours browsing through photographers on Instagram, I finally came across Lifelong Photography. I was immediately drawn to all of their photos. Each post was so different but had the vibe I was looking for. I was able to see more of their work on Marry Me Tampa Bay.”

Being relaxed in front of the camera didn't come naturally for Megan and Timothy, but luckily Lifelong knew how to put the couple at ease.

“After our first meeting with Buffy, I knew immediately that I wanted her for our wedding. She is so kind and professional. Tim and I are a bit awkward being the center of attention, so I was quite nervous about a whole photoshoot with just us,” the bride revealed. “Buffy was incredible and made us feel comfortable right from the start. She quickly learned our personalities and was able to put us at ease and calm our nerves, especially since we did all of our pictures before the ceremony. When I got the pictures back, I was blown away. They were amazing! Every time I look at our pictures, I love them more and more. Our house is currently covered in wedding pictures! I would hire Lifelong Photography again and cannot recommend them enough.”

Looking back on their picturesque day, Megan reminisced on the intimate moments that she would forever cherish with her groom.

“One of the most memorable parts of the entire day was our first look. Tim and I opted to do a first look so we did not have to rush through pictures between the ceremony and reception. I am so so happy that we made this decision,” Megan gushed. “We were able to take our time with the pictures and spend a moment alone together before the whirlwind of the wedding began. It was a beautifully intimate moment and these pictures are by far my favorites.”

The Proposal:
Tim and I took a trip to Chicago for St. Patrick's Day weekend. We spent our first day there exploring all of the major attractions and seeing as much as we could. We finished the day eating at a restaurant owned by one of our favorite “Iron chefs.” After a day full of the perfect proposal opportunities, Tim decided to propose in the hotel room after dinner. However, I am not one who likes to be the center of attention so it was perfect! We got to spend the special moment alone, and then we were able to celebrate the rest of the weekend with friends.

Where did you spend your honeymoon?
For our honeymoon, we spent a week in Turks and Caicos right after the wedding. We decided on Turks and Caicos because we wanted a week of doing absolutely nothing but relaxing. I was told by several people that we would be exhausted for days after the wedding, and it was so true! We had previously visited Turks and Caicos, so I knew we wouldn’t feel guilty lounging around all day instead of exploring new things. Best decision ever!
