Outdoor Sarasota Wedding | The Ringling Museum Wedding
Laura and Martin’s outdoor Sarasota wedding featured romantic, elegant rustic decor and a color palette of orange, yellow and pink with greenery accents.
“We had a very rustic theme: lots of reclaimed wood signage and spring florals with a ton of greenery. We live in Bradenton on five acres, and we really wanted to bring the rustic, modern, country, farmhouse feel to our wedding day,” the bride explained.

With a love for wine, the the bride and groom knew they had to incorporate this design element throughout their wedding day decor.
“We had wine barrels at our altar displaying gorgeous florals, and we also had our wedding cake atop a wine barrel,” Laura shared. “As a special treat for our guests, we served our favorite wine, Porter Family Vineyards.”
While the bride thought she could plan the wedding herself, she quickly became overwhelmed and hired Sarasota wedding planner NK Productions.
“The moment I called Nicole of NK Productions I knew that she was right for me. The first conversation I had with her, she immediately made me feel so much better, and I was way less stressed!” Laura gushed. “Nicole and her team planned one of my best friend’s weddings at the Ringling and not a detail was missed. I knew that I would be in the best hands; their service is incredible, and I couldn’t have pulled it off without them!”
Looking back, the bride’s most cherished moments included honoring the couple’s fathers.
“Martin and I both lost our fathers to pancreatic cancer and lung cancer, so I would say walking down the aisle alone, and meeting my groom half way was so memorable. Our eyes were locked, and all we could see was each other. For our first dance to tribute our dads, we chose Cole Swindell’s You Should Be Here, and it truly felt that they were there with us in that moment. The whole wedding could feel it,” the bride reminisced.
How would you describe your theme?
We had a very rustic theme: lots of reclaimed wood signage and spring florals with a ton of greenery. We live in Bradenton on five acres, and we really wanted to bring the rustic, modern, country, farmhouse feel to our wedding day.
What were your colors?
We chose spring flowers and greenery to get that rustic feel: greens, oranges, yellows, pinks. It was gorgeous!
What did you look for in a wedding planner?
Organization and stress-free planning! I was initially going to plan everything on my own and somewhat reached out to some vendors to get some ideas, but I quickly started to get overwhelmed.

The Proposal:
Martin and I were in Napa on our first day of winery tours. Every time I went to put my arm around Martin, he would move my arm and just hold my hand. He was just acting very strangely. I had convinced myself that a proposal on our vacation would be too hard for him to hide the ring, and I knew he wouldn’t pack it in his suitcase. He was also allowing me to go in his carry on bag, so I just knew there couldn’t be a ring! We got to our last winery of the day, and he was fiddling with a poker chip (used for marketing material for his company). The next thing I knew he was on his knee proposing in the beautiful courtyard of Robert Mondavi!
What advice would you give to other Sarasota couples?
I highly recommend a wedding planner! Definitely find a way to work a planner into your budget, it’s worth it!
