Sheri and Matt’s elegant South Tampa wedding mirrored their personalities with a build your own root beer float bar, photo booth, and intimate personalized vows.
“When it came to our theme, I really wanted to keep it simple yet classy. For us, it was more about choosing the perfect color scheme rather than a specific theme in general,” the bride shared. “Blue is my favorite color, so I knew that we wanted to find a way to incorporate it into the wedding in more than one way. For my bridesmaid’s dresses we went with ‘lightning blue,’ and for the tuxedos, we chose a cool gray. The gray perfectly complemented the bright bold blue of the bridesmaids’ dresses, and the cool gray of the succulents fit our overall color scheme perfectly!”

On their search for the perfect venue, the bride looked to Marry Me Tampa Bay to narrow down her selections. With its affordable price and all-inclusive options, the Centre Club jumped to the top of their list.
“Finding the Centre Club through Marry Me Tampa Bay made the selection process so much easier. It was in our budget, and their wedding packages included everything for the ceremony and reception,” the bride gushed. “Elizabeth, our on-site coordinator, was wonderful to work with and made the whole process leading up to the wedding simple and stress-free. We both loved everything about the venue! From the view to the food to the all-around amazing staff, we were more than satisfied!”

Sheri and Matt knew that incorporating special details that really stood out were important in capturing the vision they were going for.
“Having a photo booth so friends and family could take silly photos as a souvenir and leave one for us as a keepsake was something we loved,” the bride shared. “We also decided to satisfy our craving for sweets by having a root beer float bar after dinner. It was a huge hit and a fun way for our guests to enjoy something different!”
Looking back on their wedding day, Sheri loved celebrating with friends and family and dancing the night away.
“From walking down the aisle to seeing all of our family and friends, every moment made celebrating our special day that much more perfect,” the bride reminisced. “I’ll never forget towards the end of the night when Matt started belting out Bohemian Rhapsody. It was completely unplanned but an amazing way to end the night!”
The Proposal:
Matt proposed just over a year after our first date, at the location we had our first date, Jet City in Seminole Heights. Matt’s family was in on the proposal and asked to meet us for brunch on Saturday morning because his brother and sister-in-law had big news. Matt and I went, ordered coffee, and then was very insistent on sitting outside. It struck me as a little strange considering he is not a huge fan of the heat and this was the end of July. Little did I know, he had secretly arranged for a photographer from work to be there to capture the big moment. Matt started saying how happy he was to have me in his life and then he got down on one knee and proposed!
What did you look for in a wedding venue?
Affordability and versatility. We wanted a location that was elegant, but also mostly all-inclusive. Initially, we looked into renting a blank slate space and then bringing in all of the elements such as tables, linens, and lighting, but when it came down to it, we didn’t have the time to coordinate everything ourselves.

How would you describe your theme/wedding design inspiration?
When it came to our theme, I really wanted to keep it simple yet classy. For us, it was more about choosing the perfect color scheme rather than a specific theme in general.
What were your colors?
Blue is my favorite color, so I knew that we wanted to find a way to incorporate it into the wedding in more than one way. The gray perfectly complemented the bright bold blue of the bridesmaids’ dresses, and the cool gray of the succulents fit our overall color scheme perfectly!
What advice would you give to other Tampa Bay couples?
Enjoy the process and don’t stress about the small stuff. Something will come up unplanned, but you just need to roll with it and make the best of the situation! Learn to adapt. This is your day, so try not to worry about others and their opinions on how things should be done or what they would have done differently. Soak in every moment because the actual wedding day flies by!
