Karin and Greg’s destination St. Pete Beach wedding embraced the beautiful Florida weather with a romantic pink color palette and a whimsical outdoor ceremony and reception.
“We live in Chicago and chose St. Pete Beach because we wanted warmer weather in April. Since my family owns a property in Florida, it has become one of our favorite places to vacation,” the bride shared. “We really wanted something modern yet romantic, but not exactly a beach wedding. Choosing a garden-inspired wedding with tropical touches, gave us exactly what we were envisioning!”

With the destination bride and groom looking to add a bit of flair to their intimate celebration of 25 guests, they chose one of their favorite foods to take centerstage during their evening reception.
“Greg and I absolutely love tacos! Instead of doing a cake cutting, we planned on having a ‘couple’s first bite’ of tacos,’” Karin gushed. “Our caterers helped us create signature tacos instead of cocktails, and we displayed them like a cake. We then had a taco bar for our guests to enjoy during our cocktail hour!”
Finding a glam squad that could help the bride look like herself with a little added sparkle was important, and with the help of St. Pete Beach hair and makeup artist LDM Beauty Group, Karin dazzled.
“We liked that LDM Beauty Group helped us find a look that complemented my natural look in a subtle way that wasn’t over the top,” the bride beamed. “We also loved the fact that they promoted real beauty as opposed to a more made-up look.”

Looking back on her blissful day, Karin will never forget sharing a few special moments with her daughter.
“Having my daughter be apart of the celebration meant a lot to me,” the bride reminisced. “From getting ready together, to her walking me down the aisle and giving me away, to her little speech and song at the end of the night, everything was too sweet for words!”
What were your wedding hair and makeup inspiration?
I just wanted to look like myself.
We liked that LDM Beauty Group helped us find a look that complimented my natural look in a subtle way that wasn’t over the top. We also loved the fact that they promoted real beauty as opposed to a more made-up look.
The Proposal:
Greg is a middle school band director, and he proposed at his annual Christmas concert in front of 300 people by having me win a “split the pot raffle.” Both our parents were also there, which made it even more special.
How would you describe your theme/wedding design inspiration?
We really wanted something modern yet romantic, but not exactly a beach wedding. Choosing a garden-inspired wedding with tropical touches, gave us exactly what we were envisioning!
What were your colors?
Ivory and a palette of blush pinks. I wanted a clean and romantic look.
