ToniMarie and Angel’s elegant downtown Tampa wedding was brought to life by lush purple and white hydrangeas among twisted branches with touches of spooky-themed decor to incorporate their love for Halloween.
“Our wedding theme and design were inspired by our favorite movie, The Nightmare Before Christmas. We love Halloween, and me and my husband are like the characters Jack and Sally,” the bride revealed. Our colors were black and purple with white accents because they are our favorite colors, and they are also Halloween colors and colors from our favorite movie.”
To bring their movie-inspired wedding to life, the Spring Hill couple looked for a wedding planner who could help them select the right vendors and enjoy their day without worry.
“I needed someone who could keep everyone in line and make my visions come to life just the way I dreamed of them. I used Marry Me Tampa Bay to find my wedding planner, Tammy Waterman. She found all of my vendors because she knows the best ones around,” ToniMaire beamed. “I specifically chose Special Moments Event Planning for Tammy because as soon as I met with her, I knew she was going to make my dream wedding happen, and she did! My big day went so smoothly, and I wasn’t stressed about anything because Tammy was on top of everything.”
The bride and groom let their personalities shine for their 130 friends and family with every detail they chose. The bridesmaids wore soft purple to complement the lush florals, and the groomsman wore dark, dapper double-breasted suits to add to the elegance. The couple’s historic venue was a mix of contemporary and old-world that lent itself to the Halloween theme and even the wedding date was scheduled during October. To add elegance to their dark and moody reception, ToniMarie incorporated black linens, silver Chiavari chairs and chargers from Gabro Event Services.
“What made our wedding unique was the theme. It was something nobody has seen before and how different it was from a traditional wedding,” the bride explained. “The rentals enhanced the ambiance of my wedding because it made it look more like Halloween with the rustic, spooky-looking chargers and Chiavari chairs.
To make the wedding personal, the couple intertwined important family traditions and memorials.
“The most important elements of my wedding were the memorial we had set up for mine and my husband’s family members who passed away,” the bride reminisced. “For our wedding cake, Angel’s aunt from Puerto Rico made it. It meant so much to us that she did that, and it was definitely something I will always remember and cherish.”
Looking back, ToniMarie most unforgettable moment was her and her husband’s vows. The words they promised to each other along with their loved ones’ speeches made the day heartfelt.
“The most memorable moment was our vows because they were our own vows, and it was something special between me and my husband,” the bride detailed. “Also, the speeches were truly from the heart and showed me how much our parents, best man, and maid of honor loved and supported our relationship and the struggles we went through. Another amazing and memorable moment is when my brothers and their girlfriends surprised us with our honeymoon.”
The Proposal:
The proposal was a complete surprise! We went on a family vacation to Pennsylvania, and we went to New York City to walk around Manhattan. When we got to Rockefeller Center by the Christmas tree, Angel proposed. I was so shocked, and it was the proposal I always dreamed of.
