Vintage Glam Inspired Wedding | Safety Harbor Resort and Spa Wedding
Inspired by the deep, bold colors of a wine bottle label, Tampa wedding planner and designer Southern Glam Weddings and Events created a dramatic modern meets vintage glam styled wedding. The design team incorporated jewel tones of burgundy and plum, accented by textures of wood, velvet and metallics at the sophisticated Tampa Bay wedding venue Safety Harbor Resort and Spa.
“I draw inspiration from many sources and came across a dark bottle of pinot noir with a deep purple label and gold foil lettering,” Meagan Phillips, owner of Southern Glam Weddings and Events explained. “Thinking of the rich dark red wine inside, I pieced all the colors together for the palette. Who knew a trip down the wine aisle could be so inspirational?”
To enhance the romantic and dramatic theme of this Tampa Bay wedding styled shoot, Southern Glam Weddings chose an intimate setting within the Baranoff Theater of the historic waterfront wedding venue Safety Harbor Resort and Spa.
“Florida offers many gorgeous outdoor destinations for weddings, but this stunning indoor space takes the cake!” Meagan gushed. “The venue itself has an old world charm to it which tied perfectly into the theme and accented our vintage pieces. Couples who are looking for an untraditional event space can tie the knot on the theater’s stage, enjoy cocktails in the adjoining lobby, and tier the reception space on each of the three levels.”
Capturing every glamorous moment of the styled shoot was Tampa wedding photographer Brandi Image Photography. Top wedding hair and makeup artist Michele Renee the Studio enhanced the natural beauty of our already gorgeous bride with dramatic makeup and an updo.
Not a detail was spared when it came to bringing this romantic, glamorous theme together, from the moody invitations that featured a rich plum color and romantic florals from wedding stationer URBANcoast, to the copper arch, glassware design accents, and custom lounge from Ever After Vintage Weddings. An intricate gold dipped wedding cake by Tampa Bay wedding bakery Alessi Bakeries and custom cake pops by Pop Goes The Party complemented the lavish seating area.
“It takes a village to create, collaborate, plan, design and coordinate a wedding. Having a strong team of professionals is essential to provide an event experience that will be wondrous and raved about for years to come,” the wedding planner shared. “This wedding showed that one can incorporate many textures and colors together for a dramatic design; a design that makes the eyes dance to each detail.”
How would you describe the theme?
Modern vintage glam. The fall season is on the horizon and even though Tampa Bay doesn’t feel drastically cooler temperatures, I wanted to evoke the sentiment of warm jewel tones, cozy velvets, rustic woods, and florals full of foliage. Creating a luxurious and romantic indoor space set the creative basis to the theme.
What were the colors?
Deep jewel tones of burgundy and plum accented by textures of wood, velvet, and metallics. We mixed gold, copper, rose gold, and mercury glass to add a touch of glamour. Simple floor-to-ceiling white draping with white uplighting was coordinated to modernize the room and to keep the focus on the decor and candlelit details.
