Vintage, Blush, Gold and Sage St. Pete Wedding | St. Petersburg Woman’s Club
Kristin and Justin’s blush, gold and sage St. Petersburg wedding was influenced by the bride’s artistic interests.
“Decor and design were big for me, since I have a design background. I had the floor plan drawn up in AutoCAD before we even finalized our guest list,” the bride explained. “My original inspiration was a large 3×4 canvas painted soft pink with calligraphy style text that read ‘love.’ After that was done, I started the smaller love-themed phrase paintings and those became a focal point which really meant a lot to me.”
The Safety Harbor couple hosted a waterfront, Memorial Day wedding.
“We selected St. Petersburg so that we could get married at a unique venue on the water and stay at the beautiful and historic Renaissance Vinoy with family and friends,” Kristin shared. “It was a much debated choice to have our wedding on a holiday weekend. In the end, I was very happy that we picked a long weekend, so that we didn’t have to feel quite as rushed and family from out-of-town had a bit more time to spend with us.
To capture their most memorable moments the St. Pete bride and groom hired Kristen Marie Photography.
“I wanted a photographer who paid attention to the details and who made us feel comfortable in front of the camera,” the bride explained. “Kristen [of Kristen Marie Photography] was very easy to talk to, and we knew right from the start that she knew what she was doing! Her style has a very soft, ethereal look which I thought would capture our day beautifully.”

Looking back, one Kristin’s fondest memories was during her wedding ceremony.
“No contest, our vows were my favorite part of the day. Justin’s vows were amazing, and I’d like to think mine were a close second!” the bride reminisced.
The Proposal:
Justin and I are high school sweethearts and at the time of his proposal, we were a week before our nine year anniversary.
Justin went to pick out the ring with my friend (and eventual maid of honor, Katie), who was only in town for a short weekend. He proposed that same day so that she could be there to celebrate with us before leaving. The proposal was in our kitchen as I was cooking dinner, which is very fitting as I’m Italian and love to cook. So, down on his knee in the kitchen with our dog Bella by his side, he asked me to marry him! We set our date so that we would be married the night before our 10-year anniversary.
What did you look for in a wedding photographer?
Along with finding the style I preferred, I wanted a photographer who paid attention to the details and who made us feel comfortable in front of the camera.
Kristen [of Kristen Marie Photography] was very easy to talk to, and we knew right from the start that she knew what she was doing! Her style has a very soft, ethereal look which I thought would capture our day beautifully.
How would you describe your theme?
Vintage romantic, but also graphic and fun. We wanted the wedding to feel formal, but still have character and be comfortable for our guests to let loose and have a great time.
What were your colors?
Blush pink, gold and sage. I have always loved pink and gold as romantic wedding colors, however it wasn’t until we selected our venue that I knew they would be the perfect fit. The Vinoy and the St. Pete Woman’s Club both incorporate those colors along with the historic architecture that fit my style perfectly.
What advice would you give to other Tampa Bay Brides?
Focus on what is going to make your day special for you and your fiancée and don’t stress about the small details – they won’t seem as important after it’s all said and done.
Find experienced vendors and figure out which areas you want to splurge on. No matter how organized and creative you are, weddings are expensive and the planning can get tedious as well as time consuming, so find a good wedding planner who will give you some guidance and find a great photographer to capture the day. Everything else will fall into place!
