Avery and Noah
“We didn’t choose specific wedding colors, but we have both always loved tropical colors and plants. This, along with years of Pinterest history, is what brought our wedding vision together.” -The Bride
Avery and Noah’s intimate Longboat Key destination wedding combined fresh, natural hues of papaya pink and palm green with tropical elements like woven rattan decor, exotic flora, and juicy mangos to reflect the surrounding climate of the sunshine state, plus a few disco details as a nod to their unique wedding date.
“We didn’t choose specific wedding colors, but we have both always loved tropical colors and plants,” the bride shared. “This, along with years of Pinterest history, is what brought our wedding vision together.”
The Georgia couple sought a secluded picturesque setting for their 60-guest September destination Florida wedding. Upon discovering The Resort at Longboat Key Club, they were impressed by the friendly staff, attentive service, and stunning event spaces.
“We wanted somewhere lush and tropical but that also had a ‘backyard’ vibe. We loved the atmosphere and people at The Resort at Longboat Key Club. They were extremely chill and accommodating. They made the whole process effortless!” the bride raved.
“I loved the tropical destination wedding vibe at The Resort at Longboat Key Club. The beautiful Banyan tree in front of the water created a gorgeous ceremony spot.” Angel Guzman, Owner and Lead Photographer at Love and Covenant Photography added.
The pair personalized their nuptials through various special elements, including their mutual taste in music, customized vows, and curated place settings.
“Disco music is one of our favorite genres, so we were so excited to get married on September 21st [a nod to the song by Earth, Wind & Fire] and that is definitely one of our favorite details,” Avery detailed. “We loved was writing and saying our own vows to one another. The plates at each table were Avery’s late grandmothers dessert rose china that she had been collecting for years.”
Instead of worrying about the gentle sprinkle, the bride and groom soaked in the moment which ended up making for an unforgettable first dance. And their getaway vehicle created a sentimental send off at the end of the evening.
“Our first dance was so special, it sprinkled rain very lightly while we danced and stopped right as the song ended,” Avery reminisced. “Another very special moment was riding off as a married couple in the same truck Noah’s parents rode off in on there wedding day.”
“My most memorable element of their wedding day was how they included the same antique Ford truck that Noah’s parents used for their exit on their wedding day!” the photographer, reiterated. “I dream of owning an old truck one day that I’d love to pass down to my children and I love how they used this special family heirloom.”

The Proposal:
I was on a trip with my family to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, and Noah could not attend. On this trip my mom had mentioned taking family photos at Cades Cove. Everyone dressed up for pictures, and when we arrived to the location, Noah was waiting at the top of a hill with a photographer and flowers. It was so special and unexpected!
