St. Petersburg Waterfront Real Wedding Inspiration
Destination St. Petersburg Wedding | Kera Photography
Jamie and Spencer hosted a destination St. Petersburg wedding because the bride grew up in the area and the groom is from tropical Indonesia.
“If you have the option to get married some place beautiful and by the water, like Florida, why wouldn’t you?” the bride shared.
The Virginia couple’s St. Pete wedding was “simple and relaxed,” true to both of their personalities. With hues of dusty blue and blush pink, their florals added a soft touch of romance and whimsy to their waterfront, North Straub Park wedding.
Getting married in the park was one of the most important elements of Jamie and Spencer’s wedding, no matter what Mother Nature had in store.
“The weeks leading up to our wedding day were wet. It had been raining for days (and raining hard, nonetheless). We even had to do our rehearsal at the back up location,” the bride explained. “After lots of discussion, we decided we would get married at the park, rain or shine.”
Luckily, the skies were clear for the couple’s downtown St. Pete wedding ceremony, which was followed by a quaint reception at a private residence.
When looking for a St. Petersburg wedding photographer, the couple knew they wanted someone younger and experienced, who had a well established wedding portfolio.
“Kera [of Kera Photography] met all of the criteria we had for a photographer, and her price was right on budget,” Jamie explained. “Photos are important; all of the other details were temporary, while photos last forever. We wanted good quality photos to have to look back on and proudly display in our home.”

Nautical St. Petersburg Wedding | Kristen Marie Photography
Ali and Brandon enjoying boating, so a St. Petersburg wedding was a perfect fit for their big day.
The St. Pete couple’s waterfront wedding ceremony was followed by a navy blue and green reception, accented with sea shell and rope elements.
“We chose a nautical and fishing theme, because we go offshore fishing a lot and wanted to incorporate that special part of our life into our wedding,” the bride shared.
When looking for a St. Pete wedding photographer, Ali and Brandon knew they wanted someone who was easy going and could manage a feisty wedding party.
“My husband and a lot of the people at the wedding are in law enforcement, so we were looking for someone with thick skin who could go with the flow of a non-serious wedding party, but also able to keep them on track for a quick and painless formal picture session,” the bride explained. “We knew Kristen [of Kristen Marie Photography] would be able to control the group when needed and not in a rude way. She was so amazing to work with!”

Celebrating with their friends and family was the main focus of the couple’s wedding day.
“The reception was the most important. We love to have a good time, and we want our friends and family to have a good time, which is what they had. A lot of our ‘true colors’ and aspects of our life was in the reception,” Ali shared.
What did you look for in a wedding photographer?
Someone easy going, but an amazing photographer. Brandon is not a huge fan of long photo sessions and neither are his groomsmen. My husband and a lot of the people at the wedding are in law enforcement, so we were looking for someone with thick skin who could go with the flow of a non-serious wedding party, but also able to keep them on track for a quick and painless formal picture session.
Kristen [of Kristen Marie Photography] understood what we were looking for and how this group of people were. We knew she would be able to control the group when needed and not in a rude way. We liked her personality and how easy going she was. She understood what we wanted and the time frame we wanted it on; she got it done within those requests and not a minute past. She was so amazing to work with, and if I could do it again, I would pick her again.
