Waterfront St. Petersburg Wedding | Kristen Marie Photography Wedding
Erin and Jeff’s waterfront St. Petersburg wedding featured a casual atmosphere representing the couple’s personalities.
“Our theme was beach-y, shabby chic,” the bride shared. “We are pretty laid back; we didn’t want anything fancy or stuffy. Our goal was for everyone to have a good time. We had lawn games like Cornhole and a giant tic-tac-toe board for the kids.”
The couple chose a grey and ivory color palette to complement their waterfront wedding venue, the St. Petersburg Coast Guard station.
“I love neutral colors and thought it was fitting with the outdoor waterfront venue,” the bride explained. “We had a few unexpected guests at the wedding. A pod of dolphins showed up during the ceremony that day!”

The Proposal:
We are annual Disney pass holders and visit the parks often. Jeff proposed in front of the Cinderella Wishing Well. He handed a stranger his phone as if to take a normal picture, whispered to the woman about his plan and then got down on one knee. I was completely surprised, even though we had been ring shopping and talking about getting married. When we got back to the hotel room, there were a dozen red roses, notes written to me by his family welcoming to me to the family and a photo book they had put together of Jeff growing up.

What advice would you give to other Tampa Bay couples?
Don’t blow your savings or go into debt. It is only one day of your life. Focus on preparing for marriage, not the wedding. Pick one or two things that are the most important to you and splurge, like the photographer or the dress. Make sure you have good food and that your guests have fun. Take advantage of the talents of your friends and family to help save money. Your wedding day will fly by. Everything may go wrong, but at the end of the day you will still be husband and wife.

We wanted something unique and different. We both love the water, but did not want a beach wedding.
What were your colors?
Navy blue, white, light pink flowers and champagne accents. I initially chose these colors because I thought they were elegant and beautiful. They turned out to be quite the nautical theme, which went perfectly with the boat.
