Modern St. Petersburg Wedding | Downtown St. Pete Wedding Venue NOVA 535
Abby and Randy’s St. Pete wedding featured bright colors and modern elements.
“Our theme was bright, elegant and modern,” the bride shared. “We chose turquoise and tangerine wedding colors. Our wedding was in the summer, and we loved those bright colors together and knew they would make some awesome art deco, modern decor for our wedding.”
Since the pair’s first date was in downtown St. Pete and they adored the area, the local couple hosted an urban, modern wedding.
“Our venue was one of the most important elements we wanted for our wedding. We wanted a different type of place that you didn’t see all the time at weddings,” the bride explained. “NOVA 535 was the only place we visited for a wedding venue and soon as we stepped through the doors, we instantly knew that we HAD to get married here. The brick walls, wrought iron staircases, art work, wood floors, exposed ceiling with a huge fan, it was everything we loved and more!”
Looking back, one of the bride’s most memorable moments happened during their “first touch.”
“We opted out of having a “first look,” but knew we had to get together before the wedding and pray,” Abby reminisced. “We were able to stand around a corner and hold hands, while each of us took a turn to praying for the wedding and marriage that was about to begin. Both of us were crying, it was beautiful.”
How would you describe your theme?
Bright, elegant and modern.
What were your colors?
Turquoise and tangerine. Our wedding was in the summer, and we loved those bright colors together and knew they would make some awesome art deco modern decor for our wedding.
What did you look for in a wedding venue?
Our venue was one of the most important elements we wanted for our wedding. We wanted a different type of place that you didn’t see all the time at weddings.
NOVA 535 was the only place we visited for a wedding venue and soon as we stepped through the doors, we instantly knew that we HAD to get married here. The brick walls, wrought iron staircases, art work, wood floors, exposed ceiling with a huge fan, it was everything we loved and more! Everyone kept talking about how amazing this different venue site was.
Michael and Ruby of NOVA 535 were absolutely amazing; they went above and beyond my expectations. They would bend over backwards to make sure that your day was perfect and you got everything you wanted for your special day.
The Proposal:
Our proposal was a very thought out with a detailed plan by Randy and my soon-to-be maid of honor, Gabby.
Randy asked me around our 6-month anniversary while we were in my hometown for one my of best friend’s wedding. I am not the easiest person to surprise, so luckily everything almost went “wrong” that day for me to be completely out of my element and for Randy to catch me by surprise. I work night shift at a hospital, and I had overslept to wake up and franticly pack for our weekend back home. Gabby’s plane had been delayed two hours, and we were going to miss “dinner with Gabby’s parents” because of it.
When we finally arrived to my hometown later that night, we went to a park near the restaurant to “wait” for Gabby’s parents for dinner. Randy got down on one knee and asked to me to marry him. In a complete shock, I looked up and Gabby had her camera taking pictures of everything, I knew that this was real!
Come to find out, we were never meeting Gabby’s parents for dinner; it was all a scheme to get me to that park by the water, but my mom was waiting at the restaurant for us to help celebrate!
What advice would you give to other Tampa Bay Brides?
Sit back and relax the planning with your fiancé.
So much stress can come from planning, but just do the best you can and everything will really work out in the end. The tiny details really won’t matter on the day you get to marry each other.
Don’t be afraid to ask for help from family, friends, and even your fiancé.
