Lavish Purple Indian Wedding | Ritz Carlton Sarasota
Rekha and Brandon combined their Indian and Jewish heritages to host a multi-day Sarasota wedding celebration.
The Tampa bride, whose sister was also married at the same wedding venue, incorporated her Indian background and love for elephants into their Hindu ceremony, while the groom’s favorite football team inspired their Sarasota beach wedding.
“We essentially had two wedding ceremonies. Friday was the traditional white dress ceremony. I let my husband pick the colors, which somehow ended up being Miami Dolphins colors. I incorporated a champagne color, so my beautiful bridesmaids would remain my friends and not end up wearing orange and teal!” Rekha joked. “Saturday was a traditional Indian ceremony and the theme was elephants. I utilized purple as the main color.”
The Tampa couple’s lavish Sarasota wedding reception revolved around entertaining their guests with Vegas showgirls, the Mayweather fight on big screen and a 12-tier wedding cake.
“It was important that guests had the time of their life!” the bride beamed.
The Proposal:
My proposal was at the restaurant where we had our first date. I had foot surgery about three weeks before, so I was hobbling around in a walking boot on the beach. My husband hired a photographer to catch the proposal. It was absolutely beautiful and memorable.
