Haley and Sean met in Key West while their cruise ship was docked. However, sparks didn’t immediately fly and the two parted ways at the end of their vacation.
But once the pair got their sea legs back, they realized there was an attraction and within two weeks of returning from Caribbean, they went on their first date.
“Since then we haven’t spent more than a few days away from each other,” Haley shared.
With the help of family and friends, Sean planned a surprise proposal on New Year’s Eve.
“We told Haley that we were going to enjoy the fireworks and ring in the New Year on Clearwater Beach, but she objected, until her father got involved,” Sean explained. “Once her and I entered the hotel room little was obvious, the main room of the hotel looked inconspicuous. However, as soon as she opened the door to the bedroom there had been some obvious modifications: candles lit all over the room, rose petals creating a heart in the middle of the bed, surrounding the ring which would later adorn her finger. Shaking, I got down on one knee and asked her to be my wife. We enjoyed the rest of our New Year’s as a newly engaged couple.”
“We loved the architecture and design of the building and enjoyed the separate areas to use throughout the night,” Haley explained.
To keep her wedding day flowing smoothly, the bride hired St. Petersburg wedding planner Exquisite Events.
“When we met with Lisa of Exquisite Events we knew she was the lady we wanted to work with. She instantly understood our vision and I knew she would make sure things were done exceptionally,” Haley said.
The couple personalized their wedding with a Goobers groom cake (Sean’s favorite candy), a bobblehead cake topper and a popcorn bar. Wedding guests were entertained by a photobooth and a high-energy DJ.
“We had a lot of things that we enjoy, knowing that everyone else would enjoy them as well,” Haley shared. “We wanted to make sure everyone had an amazing time.”
Looking back, one Haley’s most memorable moments was having her uncle Mark marry her and Sean and making lasting memories with her family and friends.
