Review of South Tampa's Lending Luxury Dress Rental

The holidays are one of our favorite times of the year, not because because of the lights and music, but because of the parties! As you would imagine, the wedding industry knows how to throw a good party, and there is often a dress code associated with it. Since I don't frequent black-tie balls, it doesn't make sense to spend several hundred dollars on a gown I'll only wear once, so renting a dress is a much more affordable (and fun) option.

Dresses are definitely an article of clothing that you want to try on first; finding the right fit is just as important as the style itself. That's why I love Lending Luxury; you can visit their South Tampa showroom in-person rather than just working off of an online sizing chart.

I first visited the dress rental's website to even see if they carried ball gowns; I was pleasantly surprised that they had several categories to choose from including: black tie event, as seen on celebs, long dresses and more. From there I could narrow my selections by color, size, designer and rental price. It was a ton of fun “shopping,” and I saved several gowns to my favorites.

I made an appointment to try on the dresses and couldn't believe that I was just now visiting their Platt St. location, because it was literally minutes from my house!

I didn't know what to expect when I entered the Lending Luxury showroom, but I was totally wowed. It was like walking into the closet of your favorite Real Housewife. There were racks and racks of gorgeous gowns, assorted by size, then by style. They even have a picture of what the dress looks like on, so that you can envision how it will look before entering the dressing room.

I selected a handful of gowns and found one that I really liked, but it was a size too small. The stylist assisting me suggested a similar gown in my size that was stunning! I must have originally overlooked it, because really, there is so much pretty in there, but she knew exactly the look I was going for.

I suggest going a week or so before your event so that if you need a hem adjustment, their in-house seamstress can have time to alter it (available on select gowns). However, if you're super last minute like I was, you can even walk in the same day and leave with a dress an hour later, and if you live out of town, you can do everything completely online.

Sizes range from 0-14 and rentals are a minimum of 5 days, which means you can pick up your dress earlier in the week for a weekend event. Lending Luxury is constantly updating their inventory and even donates previous styles to charities for prom dresses!

I received so many compliments on my dress rental that I've already returned for my next holiday party!
