Downtown St. Pete Wedding | Vinoy Renaissance Wedding
Melanie and David’s downtown St. Pete wedding focused on creating an intimate experience for their ‘Chapter Two’ in life with a color palette of navy, gold, ivory and pale pink.
“Our theme was centered around a second chance at love and combining two families into one. I wanted simple elegance,” the bride explained.
The Lithia couple chose downtown St. Pete for their nuptials, as they love the water and the overall atmosphere that the city has to offer. Searching for a wedding venue that their guests could enjoy for the entire weekend, the bride and groom chose the Vinoy Renaissance.
“We wanted a venue that exuded elegance,” the bride gushed. “The minute we walked into the Vinoy, I cried. I knew it was the place!”

With photography as one of the most important elements to Melanie an David, they searched for a St. Petersburg wedding photographer who could create artistic photographs .
“I wanted someone friendly, yet professional,” the bride explained “I had done my research, and every picture I saw done by Limelight Photography looked like art. They were a no brainer. I loved them!”

Looking back, the bride’s most cherished memory was creating an unforgettable ceremony not only for themselves, but also for their blended family.
“Including our children in the ceremony was a perfect moment. It was important to us for our children to understand this wasn’t just our marriage – this was the union of a family, and we made promises to them too,” Melanie reminisced.
The Proposal:
David and I had our first date at our favorite, Circles in Apollo Beach. We love the water and taking the bait there. We have date nights every Wednesday, so it wasn’t unusual to go to our favorite spot. David had the same table we had our first date, flowers and wine. He proposed on the dock. David was hand picked for me. My late husband, the father to my children, died suddenly in 2012. I was 31-years-old and truly thought I would never be happy again. I met David when I least expected it. He is truly the most amazing man and had breathed life back into my heart!
