Sarah and Josh’s waterfront St. Pete wedding was a daydream filled with dusty blue accents, breathtaking bay views, and the couple’s pet dog. The Tampa bride and groom planned a Tierra Verde celebration to show their guests Florida’s hidden paradise.
“We wanted lots of ties to the beautiful nature that was around us, so naturally, we went with blue and earthy greens,” the bride revealed. “The water has always been something that we have enjoyed together and to have the opportunity to have a waterfront wedding with only our friends and family was such an incredible experience.”
As Sarah began the wedding planning process, she relied on the expertise of certified Master Wedding Planner Tammy Waterman with Special Moments Event Planning. From wedding budgets to honeymoon itineraries, Special Moments had all of the best investment tips for the big day.
“I wanted someone who would keep it real with us and had the decorations we needed. Special Moments Events Planning was an easy choice for us. Tammy and her whole team were fabulous. She kept it real with me the whole time and would always tell me if things were out of our budget, what is worth it and what was not. Tammy was always available for us and made sure everything went perfectly on the wedding day. She even bustled my dress!” the bride beamed. “Not only did Tammy plan our wedding, but she also planned our honeymoon.”
While visualizing the details of the day, Sarah read Marry Me Tampa Bay for wedding decor inspiration. After the outdoor ceremony, guests were treated to a radiant reception filled with light blue and white floral tablescapes that reflected the gleaming waterfront. Dusty blue linens and silver beveled crystal chargers from Gabro Event Services created a modern coastal feel.
To keep their 75 guests on the dance floor all night, the couple looked for a wedding DJ who knew how to take their favorite songs and help them create an energizing affair.
“In a DJ, we wanted someone who would take a sample of song requests and make a playlist out of it,” the bride explained. “Grant Hemond & Assoc. were incredible with communication, song suggestions, and kept the party going all night long.”
The couple incorporated their personalities by including their favorite food, ice cream, instead of a traditional cake (the groom is gluten-free), making it one of the highlights of their wedding day.
“The most memorable moment was the cocktail party and the ice cream. The cocktail party was super important for us to be at because all of our family and friends came from out of town, and we wanted to use that time to socialize with everyone and thank them for coming all the way to us,” Sarah reminisced. “Also, having our dog at the wedding was very memorable.”
The Proposal:
We got engaged during the beginning of the pandemic. We had planned on that day to go to a Chris Stapleton concert. Josh simulated the whole experience and proposed in our living room.
