Downtown Tampa Real Wedding Inspiration
Elegant, Outdoor Downtown Tampa Wedding
Cynthia and Tom's elegant downtown Tampa wedding took place just steps from their home.
“We live on Harbor Island and chose downtown Tampa as our wedding location because we love where we live, and it gave our out-of-town guests a great place to visit and possibly stay longer for a vacation!” the bride gushed.
The bride and groom married in an outdoor ceremony at Tampa wedding venue the Hilton Downtown Tampa.
“I really wanted to do something different than the typical Florida beach wedding, so I started looking for something that showed Tampa in a different way,” Cynthia explained. “I really loved the simplicity of the ceremony location at the Hilton Downtown Tampa. It was a naturally beautiful courtyard with the fountain and lights. I also thought it was unique, because it was right in the middle of downtown.”

The pair were inspired to host a rooftop wedding reception and chose downtown Tampa wedding venue the Tampa Club, which sets 41 stories high; the highest point in the city.
“We wanted to do something a little different,” the bride said. “The Tampa Club was a perfect location to look out over the whole city while the sun set. It was absolutely gorgeous and all of our guests were just blown away by the view!”
When it came to hiring a Tampa wedding photographer, the couple wanted someone who could understand their vision and provide guidance to make sure their photos were unforgettable.
“I researched best photographers in Tampa and Limelight Photography was the first choice!” the bride breamed. “After looking at all of their amazing work, I decided to book an appointment to meet with Michael. I thought their way of doing business was wonderful and immediately decided it was a good fit. Heather Kline was the best! We had several conversations prior, so she was on top of everything: very professional, but was easy-going with all our wedding party and she fit right in with all the joking and craziness!”
What did you look for in a ceremony venue?
I really wanted to do something different than the typical Florida beach wedding, so I started looking for something that showed Tampa in a different way.

What did you look for in a wedding photographer?
I wanted someone who could understand my vision, but also guide me in the right direction! I was not your typical bride when it came to all the planning at all!
I researched best photographers in Tampa and Limelight Photography was the first choice! After looking at all of their amazing work, I decided to book an appointment to meet with Michael. Limelight is unique in the fact that they only focus on weddings and do not spread themselves out with multiple weddings a day. I thought their way of doing business was wonderful and immediately decided it was a good fit. I'm pretty sure I booked the same day as our initial meeting! Heather Kline was my photographer for the day of, and she was the best! We had several conversations prior, so she was on top of everything: very professional, but was easy-going with all our wedding party and she fit right in with all the joking and craziness!
What did you look for in a reception venue?
While wanting to do something a little different, I had started to look at rooftop venues. Surprisingly, there are not that many rooftop locations in Tampa! Tom and I are members of the Tampa club, so we were having dinner there one night and thought, this is it, it's perfect!
The Tampa Club was a perfect location to look out over the whole city while the sun set. It was absolutely gorgeous and all of our guests were just blown away by the view! The venue coordinator was on top of everything and stayed till the very end of the reception to make sure everything was perfect. She really went above and beyond any of my expectations.
How would you describe your theme?
Simple, classic elegance. I chose this theme, because it's timeless. I didn't want to look back at the pictures in 20 years and say “What was I thinking?” But seriously, I think I really wanted to go with this simplistic theme, because it was about our marriage not all the wedding fuss.
What were your colors?
The bridesmaids wore floor length black dresses and the groomsmen wore classic black tuxedos. I told my bridesmaids to pick out whatever black dress they wanted, because I wanted them to feel beautiful and comfortable in what they were wearing. The flowers were orange, deep red and yellow. I thought it looked gorgeous against the black and also gave a fall feel to the wedding.

Silver and Purple Downtown Tampa Wedding | The Tampa Club Wedding
Ebony and Robert's downtown Tampa wedding featured an indoor wedding ceremony atop the highest point in the city.
“Downtown Tampa is a place we call home, and the atmosphere is awesome!” the bride gushed. “The Tampa Club building leaves you in awe. The view of the entire city from the 42nd floor sets this venue apart from everyone! Plus, the service was amazing!”
The bride and groom hosted a purple and silver wedding, with subtle elegant touches.
“We wanted our theme to be simple and elegant and have a nice ambiance,” Ebony explained. “The wedding was very simple and the reception was decorated just enough so that it wasn't too much.”
Creating a unique guest experience was the top priority for the Wesley Chapel couple.
“The reception and cocktail hour were probably most important, as we wanted to wow our guests and give them an experience they have never had at a wedding,” the bride shared. “We had a professional saxophonist and photo booth to capture special moments. I think we succeeded!”
