Brittney and Christopher’s vintage Ybor City wedding was a vision of old Hollywood glam that featured a live band, antique Bentley and plenty of glitz and glam. With a black, gold and red color palette, the bride and groom perfectly executed their 1920’s inspired celebration.
“We wanted a Great Gatsby meets old Hollywood vibe. I love the Great Gatsby and really wanted to have a mix of bling and feathers,” the bride shared. “I also love the colors red and black and felt like they went perfectly with our modern yet sophisticated theme.”

Searching for a wedding dress with just the right amount of sparkle, the bride looked to Tampa Bay bridal shop Truly Forever Bridal.
“One of my bridesmaids had mentioned Truly Forever Bridal, so I decided to go in and take a look at some of the dresses they had. I tried on maybe five dresses before I found my perfect dress,” the bride gleamed. “Everyone there was very accommodating and really paid attention to everything I was looking for in a dress. I was really impressed with the prices and was excited to find a dress at an affordable price. Surprisingly, my dress was actually the one thing I was able to stay in budget with!”

To complement her sweetheart dress and glamorous theme, Brittney chose bridesmaids dresses that were comfortable and sophisticated.
“We had actually been to quite a few places before we arrived at Bella Bridesmaids, but I knew when we walked in that we could find something unique and different from what we had seen at other weddings,” the bride gushed. “The dress we picked was one of the last ones we tried on. It looked great on everyone and was comfortable and easy to wear!”

Looking back on their special day, Brittney reminisced about spending time with her dad and seeing her groom for the first time.
“My dad and I were chauffeured in a white antique Bentley to the Italian Club and having that time with him before the ceremony was very special,” the bride reminisced. “Also, getting to see Chris at the altar and his expression for the first time was absolutely perfect.”
What was your bridesmaid dress inspiration?
Specifically something black, but also a dress that was elegant and sophisticated. We really wanted something that everyone felt good in.

What was your wedding dress inspiration?
I didn’t want a ball gown or something super form fitting. What I was looking for was something that fit well, had sparkle and could somehow incorporate my Aunt Michelle’s veil.

The Proposal:
Christopher surprised me with a romantic home-cooked, candlelit dinner complete with soft music playing in the background. He couldn’t wait to ask, so he proposed as I walked into the door before we even ate any dinner!
How would you describe your theme/wedding design inspiration?
We wanted a Great Gatsby meets old Hollywood vibe. I love The Great Gatsby and really wanted to have a mix of bling and feathers. I also love the colors red and black and felt like they went perfectly with our modern yet sophisticated theme.
What were your colors?
Black and gold with red accents. Black and red are two of my favorite colors, and they went perfectly with our Great Gatsby, old Hollywood theme.
What advice would you give to other Tampa Bay couples?
Make it special to you as a couple. Don’t try and fit into a mold of what others expect. Know your budget and plan for the unexpected. Decide what key factors are important to you as a couple. Secure your vendors as soon as possible. Pay attention to details. The little things do count. Make sure to relax and try not to worry if something might go wrong because the only people that will know at the end are you and your wedding planners.
