Breeze and Kyle’s St. Pete wedding was a vision of classic Florida beauty with a waterfront ceremony, timeless decor and breathtaking views reminiscent of a postcard. Honoring their colorful family background, the bride and groom created an entrance to their cocktail hour filled with wedding pictures and keepsakes from previous generations.
“I would describe our theme as classical Floridian. I am a sixth generation Floridian so I knew I wanted to find a way to incorporate an element of classic beach elegance without anything nautical themed,” the bride shared. “Our colors were mostly neutral, including white, blush pink, gold, and lots of greenery. We opted for tropical foliage and mixed in classical florals such as blush roses and white and green hydrangeas. Staying in line with our timelessly beachy theme, I added pops of gold and blush, but also incorporated shells and sand into the décor.”

Searching for a waterfront wedding venue that catered to just one couple a day, Breeze and Kyle selected Isla Del Sol Yacht and Country Club.
“Isla Del Sol was just what we were looking for. They are located right on the water, the venue was reserved for us all day, and they even had a back-up ceremony location just in case of rain,” the bride gushed. “Isla Del Sol closes the venue for each couple’s wedding all day. That was a huge thing for us. Other locations we looked at said that they could host as many as six weddings in one day, and would continue normal business. For us, that had too much potential to be chaos, and we wanted the ability to have ample time to decorate the venue, and not worry about rushing for another wedding or waiting for another wedding to clear out.”

From the moment Breeze started piecing together her big day, she started researching online and was thrilled with how much Marry Me Tampa Bay helped her find reputable vendors.
“I found Sunset Strings from Marry Me Tampa Bay. Their reputation was fantastic, their prices were reasonable, and they had the expertise and knowledge that I was looking for,” the bride shared. “My husband’s family are all classically trained guitarists, pianists, and signers so I wanted a musician that they would enjoy listening to.”

“Destiny and Light were hands down the most professional company I did a trial with. Their stylists are top-notch and they have a huge team of girls ensuring I wouldn’t have to worry when it came to all the people that needed hair and makeup done,” the bride explained. “Their hair and makeup artists were personable and knowledgeable when it came to every question I asked.”

The Florida couple are foodies at heart, and they knew they would need a baker who could deliver a wedding cake that tasted as good as it looked!
“The Artistic Whisk stood out to us because it was the only bakery that offered an icing that didn’t taste like pure sugar. The cake was made from natural ingredients, the flavors were amazing, and Jovana was amazing at her job,” the bride shared. “It was important to us that our vendors not just be good at their job, but find inspiration in their job. My husband and I are both Italian so we put a lot of love into the food we cook for our family, and we knew that Artistic Whisk would do the same for our family. I knew that Jovana would make our cake look and taste great.”

Looking back, Breeze and Kyle cherished their first dance together and their ceremony filled with friends and family.
“I didn’t get to see the ceremony location before I walked down the aisle, so seeing everything finished, and my groom standing there surrounded by our closest friends and family was really overwhelming,” the bride gushed. “Our first dance was special because it was a traditional Viennese waltz, but to a non-traditional song, If I Ain’t Got You by Alicia Keys. The combination of a classical dance with a soulful song really showcased our spirit as a couple.”
What were your wedding day hair and makeup inspiration?
As a southern woman, my inspiration was just that. I wanted to stay true to my roots. Even though braided updos and gold makeup are popular right now, that’s not my style. For me, it was all about the big hair and bling while still keeping it classy and respecting the things that look best on my body. I ended up choosing a loose romantic half-up-do with smokey glam makeup and lots of highlighter.

What did you look for in a wedding venue?
It was very important to Kyle and me that the venue not only be overlooking the water, but also have good food, and be close to the airports. Isla Del Sol closes the venue for each couple’s wedding all day. That was a huge thing for us. Other locations we looked at said that they could host as many as six weddings in one day, and would continue normal business. For us, that had too much potential to be chaos, and we wanted the ability to have ample time to decorate the venue, and not worry about rushing for another wedding or waiting for another wedding to clear out.

The Proposal:
Kyle told me that we were having a birthday party for my little sister at my mom’s house so he would be able to invite all of our family without raising any suspicion. Everyone was yelling for me to come downstairs, and when I finally came down, I saw that Kyle had transformed the dock deck area with beautiful orchids. When I walked over to him he got down on one knee and proposed. After I said “Yes,” all of my immediate family ripped off their sweaters and underneath they were wearing bridal party shirts that read “mother of the bride” or “and bridesmaid.” It was so hilarious and unexpected!
How would you describe your theme/wedding design inspiration?
Classical Floridian. I am a sixth generation Floridian so I knew I wanted to find a way to incorporate an element of classic beach elegance without anything nautical themed. We opted for tropical foliage and mixed in classical florals such as blush roses and white and green hydrangeas. I am a huge orchid enthusiast so that was also a must in our decorations.
What were your colors?
White, blush, greenery, and gold. I wanted a neutral timeless color palette. Staying in line with our timelessly beachy theme, I added pops of gold and blush, but also incorporated shells and sand into the décor.
What was your wedding cake inspiration?
Our inspiration was taste. My husband and I are foodies so it all came down to taste for us. As far as aesthetics, we wanted a timeless cake, that was traditional and neutral, so we went with a traditional tier style.

What advice would you give to other Tampa Bay couples?
Really research your vendors before you book them and prioritize them before you establish a budget. It’s important to make sure your budget reflects the things that are most important to you as a couple. Also, at the very least, get a day-of coordinator. Weddings shouldn’t be stressful! Having someone other than yourself ready to delegate and execute your special day not only reduces stress, but ensures you get the time you deserve to enjoy the day you worked so hard to put together!
