Grace and Jack
Academy of Holy Names & Hotel Flor
“We wanted our wedding to be a formal celebration, so my goal was to create a timeless and elegant wedding aesthetic with vintage charm. We kept the colors pretty simple. We incorporated a lot of black, white, and ivory with some pops of green from the florals and gold from various pieces of decor. The most important elements of our wedding were having great music, delicious food, and creating a memorable experience for both us and our guests.” -The Bride
Grace and Jack’s classic downtown Tampa wedding was a chic celebration that combined a monochromatic palette of neutral tones of white and ivory with touches of gold for a timeless setting. The couple exchanged sacred vows in a traditional church ceremony before dining and dancing with their 156 guests in an elegant ballroom reception.
“Throughout the day, the most consistent feedback we got from friends and family was how much the wedding felt like ‘us.’ From the details to the overall vibe, people kept saying how everything reflected Jack and me perfectly—and that meant the world to us. More than anything, we wanted the day to feel authentic to who we are, and it seems like we achieved that,” the bride beamed. “One moment that really stands out was right after our ceremony ended. Before Jack and I exited the chapel to join our guests out front for the petal toss send-off, we had a few minutes together, and it felt like the first time all day we could just breathe. There was such a sense of calm and joy in knowing we’d just done the thing we’d been planning for months, and now it was time to celebrate with all the people we love most.”

Finding Wedding Vendors
“While I found most of my vendors through word of mouth, Marry Me Tampa Bay was a helpful resource for understanding local pricing and typical package offerings. It gave me a clearer sense of what to expect and helped narrow down trusted options for the few vendors I didn’t already have personal recommendations for.”

The Proposal
“My only request was that the proposal not be super public, and Jack delivered perfectly. It was a quiet Friday night, and I was mid–deep clean with a podcast blasting when he called me into the living room. Slightly confused at what could be so important that it couldn’t wait for me to finish vacuuming my bedroom, I walked to the living room only to find him kneeling in front of me. Despite having picked out my ring weeks earlier, I was totally surprised since I’d been told it wouldn’t be ready for months. It turned out to be the most perfectly private proposal—exactly right for us.”

The Bach Party and Honeymoon
“My bachelorette party was in Savannah, GA. I wanted the trip to be laid back, so a location with a good mix of fun daytime activities and lively nightlife was key. It turned out to be the perfect spot to relax and celebrate with my friends!
We’re taking our honeymoon in the fall, and our current plan is Germany. Oktoberfest here we come!”

The Inspiration
“We wanted our wedding to be a formal celebration, so my goal was to create a timeless and elegant wedding aesthetic with vintage charm. We kept the colors pretty simple. We incorporated a lot of black, white, and ivory with some pops of green from the florals and gold from various pieces of decor. The most important elements of our wedding were having great music, delicious food, and creating a memorable experience for both us and our guests.
The overall theme really reflected my personal style, while the music and playful energy were all inspired by Jack. It was a cool way to mix both of our personalities into the wedding.”

The Reception Venue

Hotel Flor
“We looked for a venue that would complement our wedding theme and accommodate our guest count. We chose Hotel Flor for its beautiful vintage aesthetic, especially the stunning ballroom, which perfectly matched the vision we had for our wedding. It was one of the few venues with that classic charm that could also accommodate our guest count, so it felt like a great find.
On the day of, the space looked just as gorgeous as it did when we first toured, and the food (catered in-house for both the cocktail hour + dinner) was absolutely delicious.”

The Rehearsal Dinner & Welcome Party
“When looking for a rehearsal dinner and welcome party space, our top priority was finding something close to the hotels we’d recommended to guests, so no one had to travel far. We loved Le Méridien’s historic charm, and it was actually one of the venues we originally considered for our reception. Our experience there was great overall. Our rehearsal dinner fell on Valentine’s Day, so we especially appreciated the effort the staff made to ensure we had enough space and privacy despite the holiday crowd at the hotel restaurant.”

Which vendors really exceeded your expectations?
All of my vendors were wonderful, but my month of planner, florist, and photographers truly went above and beyond. From the very beginning, they brought a sense of confidence and professionalism that immediately put me at ease. Their creativity and attention to detail made the entire process feel seamless, and they brought my vision to life more beautifully than I could have imagined.
What advice would you give to other Tampa Bay couples?
Figure out the few things that matter most to you before you get too deep into planning—and don’t be afraid to ask for help when you need it. It’s so easy to let wedding stuff take over your life, but try to keep perspective. At the end of the day, it’s not about the perfect napkin color or welcome sign—it’s about the two of you getting married and starting your life together. Keep that front and center.
