Madeline and Tim’s waterfront St. Petersburg wedding truly captured the beauty of old Florida charm with a breathtaking ceremony on a private beach. Sprinkled with elegant Florida inspired details, the bride and groom chose a color palette of dusty rose and postman blue to tie together the whimsical ambiance they were going for.
“Our theme was beach elegance. Even though it’s a pretty popular theme for a lot of Florida weddings, neither of our families have been to a beach wedding so we wanted to really embrace it,” the bride shared. “When choosing our color palette we really wanted something that would accent the sunset, water, and our floral colors.”

Searching for their perfect beach oasis that was private enough to hold their ceremony and that came with an organized venue coordinator, the bride and groom chose Isla Del Sol Yacht and Country Club.
“Isla Del Sol was exactly what we were looking for. It offered a beautiful venue, private beach ceremony site overlooking the water, fantastic photo opportunities, great food, and a wonderful wedding coordinator,” the bride gushed. “After falling in love with the property, our minds were made up after seeing other weddings from Isla Del Sol featured on Marry Me Tampa Bay. Seeing other ideas and different vendor choices further solidified our decision to choose Isla Del Sol.”

Madeline and Tim wanted a DJ who could keep the party going, and they were more than thrilled when they found a local company with a great reputation.
“When we were looking for a DJ, we really wanted someone who knew how to keep our guests dancing all night, could provide a variety of music for our diverse crowd, and wasn’t too cheesy,” the bride explained. “We hired Grant Hemond & Associates because of their incredible reputation around the Tampa Bay Area and their overall consistency. Eric was fantastic; he improvised on queue and his timing was spot on!”

The Proposal:
On Easter in 2016, my family was on a weeklong vacation at my late grandfather’s timeshare on Sanibel Island, a vacation spot where I had many childhood memories. Over the course of the weekend, Tim had tried on multiple occasions to take me on a walk on the beach to propose. I unknowingly declined, opting instead to swim in the ocean or the pool. Each time I declined, Tim had to quickly come up with an excuse to transfer the ring back to his hiding place in the timeshare, and then subsequently make another excuse to go back and get the ring later. Needless to say, Tim was sweating, and not just from the Florida sun! On Sunday, I finally agreed to go on for a walk on the beach to look at beach sculptures. During the walk, Tim proposed.
