Kristen and Greg’s rustic inspired St. Petersburg wedding was a perfect combination of the couple’s personality.
“We wanted our wedding to be classy, but fun and elegant, informal with bright colors, attention to detail, with quirky things like having my uncle brew beer, ice cream sandwiches instead of cake, personalized table numbers, and bride/groom converse for the reception,” the bride shared.
Inspired by a variety of defining locations on their journey together, the Boston couple selected a teal and coral color palette with navy, bright pink and yellow accents.
“Greg, who’s an architect, presented me with an assortment of potential color palettes based on colors we liked and dominant colors in places we’ve gone together. That helped give direction, but in the end we ended up simply picking colors we liked that looked good together, pulling teal from my wardrobe and coral and pink from the cover of one of Greg’s favorite records,” the bride explained.
Looking back, Kristen and Greg recall their most memorable moments together from their wedding day.
“For Kristen, walking down the aisle was like seeing a slo-mo movie of my entire life, and totally amazing,” the groom reminisced.
“For Greg, it was deciding to switch to our converse (he calls them Cons) as soon as we got in from cocktail hour. It felt so ‘us’ to just say okay, we’re ready to be comfortable and tear up the dance floor!” Kristin shared.
The Proposal:
Mystic, Connecticut was a site of one of our early dates, and I’d say that’s where we fell in love with each other. So when Greg suggested a road trip there, I was a little suspicious, but Greg seemed so relaxed the entire day, so I didn’t think the proposal was actually going to happen. When the light was just perfect, Greg suggested we take a picture on the drawbridge right in the center of town. He was fiddling with the self-timer on the camera while I was getting my pose on. I was ready for him to take the shot, but suddenly he was down on one knee with his grandmother’s ring in his hand! All the people around were cheering, and the moment was actually captured on camera!
