Elizabeth and Kristopher’s woodsy Palm Harbor wedding played off their outdoor theme with elegant ivy details, wooden signs, and a sage green and white color palette. Family and friends enjoyed local BBQ and captured their own special moments from the wedding with some good old-fashioned disposable cameras!
“Our theme is best described as rustic, simple, and classic. I wanted our wedding to be timeless and fit our personalities. We love the outdoors, and we like simple things,” the bride shared. “We looked at Marry Me Tampa Bay a lot for inspiration throughout the process.”
Something that was important to both the bride and groom was finding a Tampa Bay wedding photographer who made them feel comfortable in front of the camera.
“We wanted our wedding photos to look natural and bright,” Elizabeth explained. “Kristen from Kristen Marie Photography was so personable and professional. We clicked with her right away. She did an amazing job capturing all the special moments of our wedding day.”
Although the day was about the love they have for each other, Elizabeth and Kristopher made it a point to add meaningful details that would be sure to brighten their guests’ faces.
“We included lots of personal touches, like personalized can coolers as wedding favors and a personalized wooden cake topper with our initials. We also had disposable cameras at every table for guests to capture their own special moments,” the bride added.
Remembering the day they tied the knot, the bride and groom agreed on the one memory that stood out the most.
“The most memorable moment was definitely walking down the aisle and seeing each other for the first time since we had not seen each other all day. It was the most surreal moment,” Elizabeth reminisced.
How would you describe your theme?
Rustic, simple, and classic. I wanted our wedding to be timeless and fit our personalities. We love the outdoors, and we like simple things so this theme seemed like the perfect choice for our wedding day.
What were your colors?
Sage green and white, with burlap and wood accents. I chose these colors since they are rustic but still classic. Sage green is my favorite color, so I knew the bridesmaids’ dresses would have to be this color. This was also the color of my grandmother’s bridesmaid dresses at her wedding.
What did you look for in a wedding photographer?
We wanted our wedding photos to look natural and bright. We also wanted a photographer who we would feel comfortable with on our big day.

Kristen of Kristen Marie Photography was so personable and professional. We clicked with her right away. She did an amazing job capturing all the special moments of our wedding day.
The Proposal:
Kris proposed at Fort De Soto Park at the same location where we first said, “I love you.” He proposed with a vintage engagement ring that was my grandmother’s and great-grandmothers.
How did you incorporate you and your spouse’s personalities into the wedding?
Kris and I are both love nature, so we included lots of rustic, woodsy design elements such as wood slices in our centerpieces and lots of wooden signs. I am also a lover of all things vintage, so we included lots of vintage touches. My mom and I collected vintage milk glass bud vases for over a year for our table centerpieces. We wanted to find all different styles of vases so that they would be mix-matched. It was so fun collecting them, and it really gave that special vintage touch we wanted. Also, our last name is Ivy so of course, I had to include some ivy in our ceremony decor and my bridal bouquet.
What advice would you give to other Tampa Bay couples?
Hire a wedding day coordinator! We were on the fence about doing this to save money, but I was so happy we did because I did not have to stress on my wedding day. I could just sit back, relax, and enjoy the day!
