Holly and Justin met in high school, but rarely spoke. Five years later the pair reconnected and Justin asked Holly on a date.
“Ever since we’ve been inseparable,” Holly shared.
One year into their relationship Justin decided to serve his country and join the Army. While stationed at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, he came home early for a surprise proposal.
“Justin told me that he was coming home on the 20th of May and his mom asked me if I wanted to come over on the 18th to make some welcome home signs, of course I said yes. At his parents’ house and we started making signs and his niece and nephew started dancing to one of Justin and I’s favorite songs, saying that they were making a dance for Justin when he came home,” Holly reminisced. “After that song another one of our songs came on, and then Justin walked out on to the lanai in his dress blues and surprised me! His mom and sister were holding a huge ‘Will You Marry Me?’ sign. He dropped down on one knee and asked me! My whole family was hiding in his house and knew all about this! It was perfect; it was the first time I saw him in months!”
The couple tied the knot in a small courthouse wedding and took engagement style wedding pictures at Brooksville’s Sweetfields Farm.
“I chose that location because I’m obsessed with sunflowers and I absolutely love it there,” Holly shared. “I wanted to show my southern side.”
Justin is currently stationed in Alaska, where Holly will also join him, so the newlweds wanted to embrace the warm Florida outdoors and hired Brooksville wedding photographer Ashfall Mixed Media to capture the rustic wedding pictures.
“Ashley was amazing!” the bride gushed. “She made us feel very relaxed and comfortable. We were totally ourselves and we didn’t feel as if we were being photographed at all.”
Holly and Justin will hold their official Tampa Bay wedding celebration next spring at Lange Farm in Dade City. She said she is looking forward to renewing her vows with her husband.
