Megan and D’Angelo’s downtown St. Pete wedding embodied a romantic fairytale with vintage aesthetics and an eclectic mixture of gold details and ethereal florals.
“We did not want anything to be too matchy-matchy. The flowers were a big inspiration for planning the decor. Megan had to have beautiful organic flowers to really pull together the vintage touches,” D’Angelo shared. “We also included a seating area with unique vintage furniture at the reception. We wanted to be minimalist about decor, but also wanted the pieces we did choose to make a statement.”
Choosing a St. Pete wedding photographer was of the utmost of importance to the bride and groom. Feeling confident that their photographer could capture all of the memories of their day in a beautiful way, they hired Kéra Photography.
“We felt like if we were going to put all this time, effort, and money into our special day, we wanted to make sure that we had beautiful pictures to look back on from years to come,” the bride explained. “Kéra Photography was definitely one of the most important decisions we made and we could not be happier with the outcome! “From the moment I spoke to Kéra, I knew she was the photographer for us. Not only is her work stunning, her sweet and energetic personality win you over the moment you meet her!”
Quality of food and a variety of menu options were priorities for Megan and D’Angelo, who chose St. Pete caterer Olympia Catering for both their food and cake.
“We wanted our guests to truly enjoy their meal. So many of our guests shared that they absolutely loved their food, and the service was exceptional,” the bride gushed. “Our wedding cake was not only beautiful; it was delicious as well! We chose to have simple frosting design that would really showcase the beautiful flowers placed on the cake. Megan’s favorite cake of all time is spice cake, so when we found out Olympia had that as a flavor option, there was no other choice. We did spice cake with a cream cheese filling and a buttercream topping. Not many of our guests had ever had spice cake, but they were all raving about how delicious it was.”
Looking back on their wedding day, one of the couple’s most memorable moments was their ceremony, which to the surprise of their guests, Megan’s brother officiated.
“For us, it felt strange asking a stranger to do such a personal thing. He nailed it! It felt much more personal to have someone who watched our relationship grow from the beginning, perform the ceremony. We chose to do a traditional ceremony without a first look,” D’Angelo shared. “The day of your wedding is a little hectic; you have all kinds of nervous energy, but you can’t see the one person you want to relax you. It was such a relief to finally be at the altar together. All worries about little details went out the window.”
What was your theme?
The general vision for our wedding was a romantic vintage inspired look. We knew we wanted an eclectic mix of gold vases and candle centerpieces. We did not want anything to be too matchy-matchy. The flowers were big inspiration for planning the decor. Megan had to have beautiful organic flowers and to really pull together the vintage touches. We also included a seating area with unique vintage furniture at the reception. We wanted to be minimalist about decor, but also wanted the pieces we did choose to make a statement.
What did you look for in a wedding photographer?
It was important for us that not only we were confident that our photographer would be able to capture our memories in a beautiful way, but that we meshed well with them as an individual. We wanted someone who had amazing photos, was organized, and had a great personality that would fit in perfectly on our day.
I want to learn more about Kéra Photography
From the moment I spoke Kéra, I knew she was the photographer for us. Not only is Kéra’s work stunning, her sweet and energetic personality wins you over the moment you meet her. Kéra Photography’s service was amazing! We absolutely loved our photos. It was so important to us that we had beautiful photos to look back for years to come, and Kéra over delivered. Her work was amazing and her professionalism was outstanding.
We met in the fall of 2007 at Best Buy where we both were working our way through college. After numerous attempts of trying to flirt with Megan, I realized I was going to have to be more direct with her. I asked for Megan’s number and to avoid turning me down, she rattled it off as fast as she could and walked away. To Megan’s surprise, I was able to remember her number in full and from there on our relationship grew.
Ten years down the road, I surprised Megan with a vacation to San Francisco. Megan did not know that the life changing moment she had been waiting for was soon approaching. I, in a very thoughtful way, planned a beautiful day at a private winery in Napa Valley. Clueless to what was to happen next, I walked Megan out to an open field overlooking the vineyards and asked for her hand in marriage.
What was your wedding menu inspiration and what did you look for in a wedding caterer?
Our wedding menu inspiration was really driven by the desire to provide a variety of options. We wanted our guests to truly enjoy their meal. We chose items for our tasting that we thought would be popular favorites of our guests and then we narrowed the options down to what we personally thought were the best tasting.

What advice do you have for other Tampa Bay couples?
Our advice is to always keep in mind that this moment is meant to be the happiest time of your lives, and everything you do should be about you two. Make decisions together and respect each other’s opinions. You will never be able to please every guest, so make sure your wedding is what you two want it to be, not what anyone else thinks it should be. Last but not least, have fun! We really enjoyed our wedding solely because we mingled with the party the entire time. Do not get caught up in any wedding shenanigans during your special day that keeps you from enjoying your moment. Grab a drink, put your dancing pants on, and be the center of your wedding!
