Davis Islands Garden Club Wedding – Red & Tiffany Blue Vintage Tampa Wedding
Dani and Mike met in high school. He was a football player and she was a cheerleader.
However, their love story didn’t begin there, it started nine years later when they reconnected at local bar and soon went on their first date.
“Mike told me it was the best first date he’d ever been on,” Dani reminisced. “We were instantly in love and barely spent a day apart. He made me laugh that night and has been doing so since.”
A year and a half later Mike proposed.
“I had known I would marry him for some time,” Dani gushed. “The engagement was a complete surprise, and the ring he picked out, 100% on his own, fit my style perfectly.”

The Tampa couple hosted a waterfront vintage garden wedding inspired by Valentine’s Day.
“I love everything vintage, so I knew I wanted that to be a part of the decor,” Dani explained. “We had a hand in every detail and spent a year finding out more about each other and what we wanted in our wedding. We bought a lot of stuff from Etsy which all went beautifully.”
To complement their vintage Tampa wedding, Dani and Mike chose waterfront Tampa wedding venue Davis Islands Garden Club.
“We decided to go with DIGC because it was a clean slate that we could make our own. We could make it as big or small a gathering as we wanted,” the bride explained. “We also loved that it was on the water which has always been a favorite of mine.”
The Tampa bride opted for a tea length wedding dress, accompanied by bright red wedding shoes and red bouquet.
“I knew from the first day I started daydreaming about my wedding that I wanted a short dress. I wanted something I could dance and spin in and something that made me unique as a bride. It was fun, flirty and romantic!” Dani gushed. “I also wanted to show off my amazing red shoes!”
Looking back, one of Dani’s most memorable moments came during her waterfront Tampa wedding ceremony.
“Seeing the look on Mike’s face when I walked down the aisle, I could only see him,” the bride reminisced.
“We decided to go with Davis Islands Garden Club because it was a clean slate that we could make our own. We didn’t want a cookie cutter wedding. Our favorite part about having our wedding at DIGC was after looking at the finished project we could see all our hard work.” – The Bride

What advice would you give to other Tampa Bay Brides?
The best advice I could give to other brides is to really enjoy the day. You get so caught up in wanting everything to go perfectly that you could easily miss what this day is really about.
Also, plan for at least one thing to go wrong, because it will, and just go with it and focus on everything that is going right!
