Yacht StarShip Wedding – Northside Florist Wedding
Nicole and Larry’s Love Story:
My husband Larry and I met in 2006 and were just friends.
In 2010, the stars aligned and we started dating.
We dated for three years, and on St. Patrick’s Day 2013, he surprised me by popping the question out of nowhere. I couldn’t have been more happy and excited to marry him.
Pink, White and Ivory Romantic Bling Yacht StarShip Wedding
Nicole and Larry live on Hillsborough River and have a passion for boating, so finding a waterfront wedding venue was a must for the Seminole Heights couple.
“We love the water, and we love boating, so when we considered venues the Yacht StarShip was at the very top of our list way above all the rest. The venue just matched our personalities,” the bride explained.
Not only did the Yacht StarShip meet the couple’s location requirements, the all-inclusive wedding venue eased the pressure of wedding planning for the bride and groom who, just months after their engagement, found out that they were expecting their first child.
“I loved how so much was included; the DJ, the food, the alcohol — even a wedding planner to help with the details and logistics,” Nicole gushed. “They took care of a lot of the details; all I had to do was make a few key decisions. They set up everything for me. I worried about nothing and just enjoyed our big day!”
The bride chose a pink, white and ivory “romantic bling” theme for her waterfront wedding.
“The color combination is gorgeous, very romantic and matched perfectly for the spring season in which we were married,” Nicole said. “I choose to add the bling because I love all things that sparkle, especially diamonds. It was a fun way to liven up the soft romantic theme.”
To bring her vision to life, the couple searched for a professional wedding florist, “who was on top of their game.”
“We actually had to let our first florist go, because details were being missed and forgotten and the lines of communication were not clear. So when I knew our first florist wasn’t going to make the cut, I asked around for recommendations and kept hearing about Northside Florist,” the bride explained. “Kathy [of Northside Florist] was amazing, and she more than exceeded my greatest expectations. All of the flowers were perfectly arranged, fresh and exactly what I wanted. They set up everything around the altar including the white flowy chiffon. Everything looked so beautiful in the sunset with the water sparkling. I was truly impressed and so were all my guests!”
Looking back, one of the bride’s most memorable moments was enjoying the scenery with her guests and groom.
“As I was on the top open deck of the Yacht StarShip talking with guests towards the end of the night, hearing the fun music, feeling the gorgeous warm breeze and the energy of all my friends and family having a fun time and then looking over at my new husband and him smiling back, it was just bliss,” Nicole reminisced.

“We did our best to incorporated our infant son into our wedding. Instead of the pastor pronouncing us ‘husband and wife,’ he pronounced us ‘a family.’ We shared our kiss and then picked up our son and both kissed him and then all walked back down the aisle together.” – The Bride

“The scenery was always changing because we were always moving. Guests really enjoyed themselves. They could relax with coffee and conversation on the first floor, head up to the second floor for drinks and dancing on the dance floor, or take the party upstairs on the open roof top deck which was beautifully lit and had an amazing spring nighttime breeze. It was very private and intimate on the Yacht StarShip.” – The Bride
