Outdoor Vintage Sarasota Wedding | Palmetto Riverside Bed and Breakfast Wedding
Amy and Kevin’s Sarasota area wedding featured and outdoor ceremony, vintage accents and greenery personally grown by the bride and groom.
“The two biggest things that made our wedding unique was the location and the personal touches we put on every part of the wedding. I wanted our wedding to be classic, with a little whimsy and a lot of charm,” the bride shared. “My husband and I love to do everything together, and we wanted people to see that throughout our wedding. We grew all the succulents in our backyard and made a chalkboard sign and centerpiece boxes together.”
The vintage inspired Sarasota wedding included a hutch turned seating chart, wooden sweetheart table and elegant outdoor lounge.
“I specifically hired Reserve Vintage Rentals for its pieces that would perfectly accent our wedding. We rented many large items, such as our lounge and place card hutch. They also brought along smaller items to be added in during set up, which I would have never thought of myself,” Amy explained. “The service of Reserve Vintage Rentals is the best around. They worked harder than any other vendor we hired (they literally put their back and sweat into their work)! Every vignette ended up being much more beautiful than even I imagined.”
The Parrish couple searched for a Sarasota wedding caterer who could provide a unique menu and multiple services.
“I really wanted to hire a catering company that did the food, cake and bar. When you have so many vendors, it is convenient to combine all three aspects,” the bride shared. “Our menu inspiration was our friends and family. I wanted people to feel like they had choices in their meal, so we had a pasta bar with many different options. Olympia Catering made sure there was plenty of staff waiting on myself and my family and bridal party and the drinks were great! They were so accommodating by specially making blueberry Moscow Mules!”

Looking back, one Amy’s most memorable moments included her excitement for the wedding ceremony to begin.
“Right before walking down the aisle, I was so nervous and my dad thought I was going to pass out!” the bride shared.
How would you describe your theme?
I wanted it to be classic, with a little whimsy, with gold faceted accents, succulents, and a lot of charm.
What were your colors?
Gold, grey, white and succulent colors: dusty blue, green, and purple.
The Proposal:
Kevin and I had a romantic weekend planned in the beautiful and historical St. Augustine, Florida. We booked a quaint bed and breakfast and couldn’t wait to stroll the streets together. Kevin expressed that he wanted to go to the lighthouse when we first arrived, that way we wouldn’t have to drive anywhere else that weekend. I obliged to his request (and had a secret giddy feeling inside!). We arrived at the lighthouse in the early afternoon, and the weather was beautiful. I remember holding Kevin’s hand before we walked up all those steps, and it was so sweaty; I smiled to myself because I had a good feeling about this trip.
As we got to the top, the views were stunning. I wrapped my arm around my shaking at-the-time boyfriend’s waist. I waited and waited, and we must have walked around the top of that lighthouse 10 times! I was starting to think that I was wrong about this lighthouse trip! Just as I was about to say I was ready to leave, Kevin looked at me and said, “Amy, you know I love you very much…,” and the rest is history. Kevin always has to add that I grabbed the ring even before I said, “Yes!” I was so scared when he opened the box that my gorgeous ring was going to fall off the top of the lighthouse! I cried, people clapped, and we got our pictures taken. Shakily, we both walked down the lighthouse, so happy and in love.
What did you look for in a wedding caterer? What was your menu inspiration?
I really wanted to hire a catering company that did the food, cake, and bar. When you have so many vendors, it is convenient to combine all three aspects. Our menu inspiration was our friends and family. We didn’t have a specific influence, but we wanted our food to be unique.
Olympia Catering made sure there was plenty of staff waiting on myself and my family and bridal party and the drinks were great. We did signature drinks which were amazing; they were so accommodating by specially making blueberry Moscow Mules! We had a buffet with pesto stuffed chicken, truffle mashed potatoes, Caesar salad, and vegetables. I also wanted people to feel like they had choices in their meal, so we had a pasta bar with many different options. Our appetizers were the fun part; with hot artichoke and sun-dried tomato dip, and Spanakopita with tzatziki sauce.
What did you look for in a wedding rental company?
I wanted a wedding rental company who I knew would complement my style, as well as work with my budget. I specifically hired Reserve Vintage Rentals for its pieces that would perfectly accent our wedding. We rented many large items, such as our lounge and place card hutch. They also brought along smaller items to be added in during set up, which I would have never thought of myself. The service of Reserve Vintage Rentals is the best around. They worked harder than any other vendor we hired (they literally put their back and sweat into their work)! Every vignette ended up being much more beautiful than even I imagined.
What advice would you give to other Sarasota area couples?
Do your research, and don’t forget this is your day! Your are going to get thousands of opinions. The only one that matters and you and your husband’s. Not everyone will agree, but it is your day.
