Elegant Clearwater Ballroom Wedding | Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach Wedding
Victoria and Chris’ Clearwater Beach wedding featured an elegant navy and gold color palette with pops of color.
“We went with a ‘Palm Beach’ theme as suggested by [our planner] based on our Lilly Pulitzer attire during our initial consultation,” the bride explained. “I really love patterns, pops of color and texture. The reception decor was exactly what I wanted. It was the perfect mix of uniformity with some unique pieces. The flow of the room was phenomenal!”
Although the couple currently live on the east coast of Florida in Jupiter, they chose to marry in the bride’s hometown of Clearwater Beach.
“Clearwater Beach was always a dream wedding destination for me. Seeing brides on the beach during my teenage years made a lasting impression and made my hometown seem that much more majestic!” Victoria gushed.

The bride and groom searched for a beachfront wedding venue with stunning views and that could also offer a private setting.
“I toured various beach locations for waterfront ceremonies, but they didn’t feel like ‘the spot’ for us,” the bride shared. “As soon as I saw the Sky Terrace at the Hyatt Clearwater Beach, my jaw dropped, and I knew this was it! It was the perfect mix of outdoor elements with a private area where we wouldn’t be disturbed mid-ceremony. We couldn’t have asked for a better ceremony backdrop. I would choose the Hyatt ten times over again.”

Looking back, one of the bride’s most cherished memories was spending quality time with her guests during the “dollar dance.”
“It was such a sweet moment to get a few minutes with the men attending my wedding! It was one of my favorite memories,” Victoria reminisced.
What did you look for in a wedding venue?
We wanted the classic Clearwater Beach views, but searched for something private. I toured various beach locations for waterfront ceremonies, but they didn’t feel like “the spot” for us.
As soon as I saw the Sky Terrace at the Hyatt Clearwater Beach, my jaw dropped, and I knew this was it! It was the perfect mix of outdoor elements with a private area where we wouldn’t be disturbed mid-ceremony. The views were amazing and our out-of-town guests thought they were phenomenal! We couldn’t have asked for a better ceremony backdrop. I met Lindsey [of the Hyatt] and immediately clicked with her. Every question I asked, she seemed to have the perfect answer to. She was genuine, honest, knowledgeable, professional, reassuring and made herself readily available as I planned from a distance. Every single person involved at the Hyatt really went above and beyond and didn’t make me feel like they were going out of their way to do so. I would choose the Hyatt ten times over again.
The Proposal:
My husband, Chris, was living on the east coast in Jupiter, FL, while I was working and getting my Masters in Clearwater. I had made the last-minute decision to visit him when two of our friends were in town for a rival football game. Saturday morning we went to my favorite café, shopped the craft store sale and took a look at real estate options in the neighborhood we wanted to live in. Before dinner, he told me he had a coupon for a private tour of the Jupiter Lighthouse. As we made our way up, Chris made sure to look out every window (to stall while the photographer got ready on a boat below). Once we made our way to the top, he pointed out a bouquet of flowers on the railing. Before I knew it, he was down on one knee. I was completely surprised. I thought he was proposing the next weekend on our anniversary trip!
How would you describe your theme?
We went with a “Palm Beach” theme, as suggested by [our planner] based on our Lilly Pulitzer attire during our initial consultation. Chris and I are both into the nautical theme, but didn’t want the rustic feel at such a beautiful resort!
I really love patterns, pops of color and texture. The reception decor was exactly what I wanted, and I never knew it until the day of! It was the perfect mix of uniformity with some unique pieces. The flow of the room was phenomenal!
What were your colors?
Navy, gold with pops of pink/fuchsia. I didn’t want every single thing to be only navy and gold.
What did you look for in a wedding DJ?
I wanted a DJ who could cater to a wide range of age groups. Not all guests were 21 and ready to dance to club style music all night, so I was nervous about including all guests on the dance floor.
Our DJ from Grant Hemond & Associates had phenomenal ideas to personalize our reception. We did a consultation over the phone to exchange ideas and nail down specifics. Minutes before the reception began, he was so flexible in accommodating our excited and outgoing wedding party that wanted to walk out to personalized songs! Our dance floor was packed all night!
What advice would you give to other Tampa Bay couples?
Meet in person if you can, it really gives you the opportunity to get to know people’s personalities.
