Abbie and Seneca met in college at Iowa State and grew from being friends to becoming inseparable.
After 10 years of dating the Seneca finally proposed while the pair were on a Hawaiian vacation.
“We were at a luau on the night of my birthday. We had a group of 10 with us including my parents, my brother, his brothers, and several of my friends,” Abbie explained. “I was opening presents from everyone, then Seneca began to give me his presents. He started with a box that had two Swarovski stemmed champagne flutes in it, then a costume jewelry necklace, and then he pulled out what appeared to be an engagement ring box, except it wasn't. It was a ring that matched the necklace. After I tried on the costume jewelry ring, Seneca said, Well if you like that one you will love this one. I immediately started dying when I saw another ring box! It was an amazing engagement ring; I was in shock for the next hour. I didn't even answer him when he popped the question; he had to ask me twice!”

The Texas couple wanted to tie the knot by the beach and decided on Clearwater Beach wedding venue The Sandpearl Resort.
“I fell in love with everything about the Sandpearl. The staff was amazing!” the bride gushed. “We knew that we wanted to have the ceremony on a lawn and they have such a nice lawn that meets the sand.”
With the task of planning a Clearwater Beach destination wedding ahead of her, Abbie knew first hand the importance of hiring a wedding planner.
“My sister got married three years ago in Marco Island, Florida and did not get a wedding planner. My mom was so busy running around doing everything, I didn't want that to be the case with mine,” the bride explained. “I also didn't want to worry about anything on the day of the wedding.”
The bride hired Clearwater Beach wedding planner Exquisite Events to ensure that her big day was stress-free.
“Lisa and Ashley were so amazing!” Abbie exclaimed. “Exquisite Events really seemed genuine in wanting to help plan the best possible day for me.”
Fashion played a large role in Abbie and Seneca's wedding day, and not just for the bride, but also the groom.
“My husband is quite the fashion expert so he had a lot to do with what everyone wore,” Abbie explained. “Our shoes were both Christian Louboutin. Seneca was very involved in my shoe picking out process, because shoes are his thing. After we found my shoes, he decided he needed some red bottoms too, and found the white ones with the spikes that went perfectly with his outfit that he had custom made by élevée. It's probably not that often that the groom's shoes cost more than the bride's.”
Looking back, Abbie said that her entire wedding day was full of memorable moments.
“I want to relive it every day,” the bride gushed. “From getting ready with my best friends and family, to walking down the isle, and the fun crazy reception! I loved having family and friends together for a whole weekend.”
