Kaleigh and Greg's intimate downtown St. Pete wedding boasted boho elements and rich colors for their December celebration.
Their jewel-toned color palette of forest green and burgundy reflected the colors of the season without feeling too Christmas-like, while the natural foliage, pops of gold, and geometric ceremony backdrop created a bohemian flair for their 85 guests.
“Our theme was simple but elegant. We weren’t bogged down in the details. We focused on the big aspects that were important to us,” the bride explained. “I knew I wanted more greenery than florals, so we had eucalyptus garland running down the reception tables and burgundy and blush florals placed on our ceremony arch. Our venue provided many of our decorative items such as our geometric arch at the altar and gold accents on the reception tables. We were lucky in that the décor and interior of our venue are already so gorgeous we didn’t have to add much!”
Turning to Marry Me Tampa Bay, the couple researched their vendors and found inspiration for their wedding day.
“The Marry Me Tampa Bay site helped me pick out vendors and gave me décor inspiration. I followed MMTB on Pinterest and loved getting ideas from other Tampa weddings. I really wanted to avoid hiring a vendor that we would be disappointed in, so I made sure I scoured reviews for any prospective vendor,” Kaleigh shared. “I found our venue, Red Mesa Events, through Marry Me Tampa Bay!”

The bride and groom searched for a wedding venue with both an outdoor ceremony space and an indoor ballroom in one location and chose newly renovated Red Mesa Events.
“We both really wanted a space with exposed brick and modern design. I saw Red Mesa on multiple wedding blogs, but I was a little unsure since it seemed relatively new. Once we saw the space, we both fell in love,” the bride gushed. “The rooftop area for the ceremony and cocktail hour combined with the reception hall downstairs was exactly what we were looking for. It truly is an all-in-one venue, and they took care of absolutely everything.”

The Brandon couple wanted their wedding to reflect their non-traditional style, so hosting a festive brunch reception was a perfect opportunity to give their guests a unique experience.
“We really wanted to have a brunch wedding, and Red Mesa has a food and drink menu specifically for brunch! Many of our guests raved about the food and said they had never been to a brunch wedding before and really enjoyed it.”
The pair relished every moment with their closest friends and family and found it tough to choose their favorite moment of the wedding as the whole day was truly so special for them.
“Our first dance to Harvest Moon by Neil Young is a moment I will never forget. I hope to always remember the overwhelming happiness I felt the entire day,” Kaleigh reminisced.
What did you look for in a wedding venue?

The Proposal:
Greg took me to dinner at Charley’s and was acting weird the whole night. He kept getting up to use the “bathroom,” but he was actually conspiring with the waiter to take a video of him proposing. After he proposed at the restaurant, he surprised me by taking me to Coppertail Brewing (our first date spot) where our families and friends were waiting to celebrate with us!

What were your colors?
Forest green and burgundy. I liked the idea of incorporating these Christmas-y colors in an understated way since our wedding was in December.
What advice would you give to other Tampa Bay couples?
Focus on the things that are important to you as a couple. Don’t feel pressure to conform to anyone else’s opinions of what your wedding should be. Many people disagreed with some of our decisions surrounding the wedding and made their opinions known to us. However, if you stand firm on what you both want and politely ignore unsolicited advice, your day will be as beautiful as you imagined it to be. Also, make sure you both take time to relax in the week leading up to your big day!
