Allyson and Tyler’s destination St. Pete wedding was a stunning summertime celebration with dusty blue details, radiant rose tones, and gold accents to pop against the bride and groom’s contemporary-chic ballroom wedding.
“I wanted the color scheme to feel like summer, with some gold glam. Our colors were very summery and felt perfect in the sunny climate in August,” the bride shared. “We also had a few small touches of black with the gold to incorporate colors of our favorite sports team the Purdue Boilermakers.”

The Georgia couple knew Florida would be the perfect spot for their destination wedding of 80 after visiting the downtown St. Pete area years earlier.
“We live in Augusta, Georgia, but Tyler’s family lives down in Tampa and Sarasota. We fell in love with St. Pete a few years ago, and The Birchwood was the perfect spot for us. We wanted a wedding venue that was classy, modern, had a ‘clean’ feel to it, and great photo opportunities,” Allyson explained. “I saw The Birchwood for the first time on Marry Me Tampa Bay. The size and location were perfect. Heather with The Birchwood was always so inviting and always responded to my emails immediately. The personal touches really set them apart.”

To create a stress-free weekend that would allow the couple to enjoy their out-of-state company, the bride and groom hired St. Petersburg wedding planner Coastal Coordinating to guide them through their personal day.
“What set our wedding apart was the intimacy of it. We had multiple guests tell us how special they felt being invited to such a small, intimate wedding. The intimacy of the small wedding was very rooted in who we are,” the bride revealed. “We wanted a wedding planner who could really help us pin down the final details and to take charge on the day of the event, so we wouldn’t have to worry. Coastal Coordinating was very highly rated, and after talking to Katy for the first time on the phone, I was sold. She and her team were there to help me the last few months before the big day and on the day of the wedding. I didn’t have to worry about anything at all. They set up all the decorations, set the schedule, met the vendors. It was so helpful.”

As their wedding day symbolized the beginning of their next chapter together, it was those iconic events that meant the most to the newlyweds.
“Our most memorable moments were, of course, seeing each other for the first time, as well as our first dance. I also had a first look with my dad, which was really special,” Allyson beamed. “It was an amazing day full of love and friends, and I can’t imagine anything better. It was a dream come true.”

It was right by Straub Park and downtown St. Pete, and there were plenty of hotels for our guests to choose from. Heather with The Birchwood was always so inviting and always responded to my emails immediately. The personal touches really set them apart.
