Kendall and Adam’s destination Palmetto wedding paired gorgeous waterfront views with a whimsical mix of decor for an outdoor affair reminiscent of a fairytale. Incorporating their fun-loving personalities, the bride and groom went above and beyond to ensure their guest list of 85 had the night of their lives with 80’s music and an after-party on a chartered yacht.
“I personally don’t like a lot of bling. When we envisioned our big day, I pictured something that was simplistic yet elegant, which is exactly how I would describe our theme: simple, elegant, and romantic with lots of greenery,” the bride shared. “Our venue was a 1910’s home turned bed and breakfast, so we wanted to stay with a classic, romantic theme to match the simple yet beautiful décor.”

Planning a destination wedding from Atlanta, Kendall understood the importance of hiring a Sarasota area wedding planner. When she came Coastal Coordinating on Marry Me Tampa Bay, the bride was smitten. Not only did she instantly click with her planner Katy, Kendall knew she wasn’t just another number in the wedding game.
“We absolutely loved having Coastal Coordinating as our day-of coordinator. I knew from the start that I could trust Katy and that she would be amazing. Throughout the two months before the wedding, she answered any and all of my questions, helped me stay organized, gave me advice, and truly cared about my wedding,” the bride gushed. “Keira, her assistant, was also a huge help when it came to reeling in our rowdy wedding party while making sure everyone was on the same page. On the wedding day, Katy and Keira went above and beyond. Honestly, I can’t imagine what my wedding would have been without them. They were so quick and perfect with setup; it was as if they were able to read my mind about where exactly I wanted everything and how I wished it to look. The wedding was absolutely flawless because of her and Keira. I said this the day of the wedding and I say it now, hiring Coastal Coordinating as my day-of coordinator was one of the best investments I made for my special day!”

Quickly realizing Marry Me Tampa Bay was a trusted resource for local vendors, the couple-to-be felt more than ready to hire Graingertainment after reviewing reviews raving about their service.
“We were really looking for someone who could read a crowd and keep the dance floor alive,” the bride explained. “After reading through all of the reviews on Graingertainment, we knew they were our number once choice. We loved their easy-to-use online portal to request songs, make a playlist, and fill out a questionnaire. Dylan, our DJ, was amazing. He kept our reception events on time and kept everyone on the dance floor. It was as if he had looked over our Spotify playlists and created our reception music from that. He knew exactly what we liked and kept everyone happy!”

When it comes to their favorite pastimes, Kendall and Adam can most often be found anywhere near the water, snacking on their favorite desserts, or getting down to ’80s music, so it only made sense to incorporate all of these things into their wedding day.
“Since we spend as much time on the water as possible, we got married at a venue on the water and hired a private yacht to shuttle us across the river to the after-party,” the bride beamed. “From our dessert bar filled with cake, donuts, and cookies to our stellar mix of ’80s and electronic music, the night was everything we could have imagined.”
Feeling more than blessed for friends and family to attend the day, the couple cherished the moments that meant the most.
“Having both of our grandmothers be apart of the ceremony was unforgettable and so precious. They both signed our official wedding certificate and truly added a sentimental and unique moment to a day we will never forget,” the bride reminisced. “There certainly wasn’t a dry eye in the crowd for this moment!”
The Proposal:
Adam and I lived in Atlanta, Georgia when we got engaged. We had an annual tradition of visiting Mercier Orchards in Blue Ridge, Georgia since our first year together. Before we made our fifth trip to the orchard, Adam, unbeknownst to me, planned the proposal by reaching out to the event coordinator at the orchard and working with her to hire photographers to catch the special moment. While on the tractor ride into the orchard to pick apples, the driver mentioned an unexpected stop at the old apple house, which was strange since they had never done that in the years past. We all got out, and with the Smoky Mountain foothills behind us, Adam proposed. It was beautiful and the perfect fall proposal.
What did you look for in a wedding planner?
I was looking for a day-of coordinator that I meshed with and was easy to talk to. Some of the planners I spoke with just treated me like another bride and truly weren’t invested in the conversation. That was not the case with Katy of Coastal Coordinating. From the very first phone call, she made it seem that my wedding was the only one she was working on. She was incredibly invested in my big day, and I could tell she would do whatever she could to make it perfect. It was so important that I had someone I could truly trust with my wedding, and Katy was just that!

They were so quick and perfect with setup; it was as if they were able to read my mind about where exactly I wanted everything and how I wished it to look. Katy even brought extra supplies, including dishes for the dessert table that we ended up using. When things went wrong, Katy was fantastic at not only coming up with a fast and efficient solution but calming me down. The wedding was absolutely flawless because of her and Keira. I said this the day of the wedding and I say it now, hiring Coastal Coordinating as my day-of coordinator was one of the best investments I made for my special day!
How would you describe your theme/wedding design inspiration?
I personally don’t like a lot of bling. When we envisioned our big day, I pictured something that was simplistic yet elegant, which is exactly how I would describe our theme: simple, elegant, and romantic with lots of greenery. Our venue was a 1910’s home turned bed and breakfast, so we wanted to stay with a classic, romantic theme to match the simple yet beautiful décor.
What were your colors?
I love earthy tones, so we went with blush, navy, and burgundy with some pops of gold, while using lots of greenery in the bouquets and centerpieces.
What did you look for in a wedding DJ?
We wanted someone who could read a crowd and keep the dance floor alive. We also wanted someone with experience and good quality gear. After reading through all of the reviews on Graingertainment, we knew that they were our number once choice. Being in business for a long time, they were quick with their responses, and when I had questions and were great to work with. We loved their easy-to-use online portal to request songs, make a playlist, and fill out a questionnaire. Dylan, our DJ, was amazing. He kept our reception events on time and kept everyone on the dance floor. It was as if he had looked over our Spotify playlists and created our reception music from that. He knew exactly what we liked and kept everyone happy!
What advice would you give to other Sarasota couples?
Hire Coastal Coordinating! Having a day-of coordinator is one thing, but having Katy work with you on your dream wedding is everything you could ever ask for. Also, don’t forget to take it all in. We tried our best to take in every moment, but it all goes by so quickly. Do your best to truly enjoy yourself, and don’t sweat the small stuff. I promise, no one will notice anything that goes wrong. Take a day or two between the wedding and the honeymoon. It was so nice to have time to pack and prepare without rushing to the airport.
