Florida is the epitome of sunshine, crashing waves, sandy beaches, and sunsets. Claire Boren, Assistant Planner and Detail Coordinator with Jennifer Matteo Event Planning shared how her team combined Florida’s most authentic aesthetic to create a citrus-themed wedding inspiration shoot.
“The theme of this shoot was light, airy, and fruity! As trends come and go, we have seen this theme stick around for a while. We wanted to show our clientele a fresh and fun way to accentuate their florals by incorporating other pieces into their centerpieces,” the wedding planner explained. “We used colors in the tone of various fruits with a pop of dark blue to balance it out. Using fruit and citrus as a theme, we chose these colors to bring the theme to life.”
Jillian Margaret Photography captured the intimacy of a private open-air garden wedding venue, while the design team curated organic details in a luxurious way to showcase how to celebrate with a smaller audience.
“During COVID, everyone was feeling a bit down, and creativity was getting lost, so we wanted to play around with a different twist on a classic look. We brought all of our ideas together to create a light, bright, and fun shoot,” Claire revealed. “We also wanted to show how we can enhance the beauty of the outside of this venue due to the new COVID protocols for future weddings coming up.”
The organic-inspired tablescape included a mix of melons, lemons, and limes, along with exotic kumquats, pomegranates, and kiwi. The citrus fruits elevated the bright roses and greenery that filled the floral garland and bouquets.
The bride’s sleek low cut open back gown added a modern flair to this whimsical shoot.
