Pastel Pink and Grey St. Pete Wedding | Special Moments Event Planning
Tina and Collin’s casual St. Pete wedding featured a soft pastel color palette and personalized details to reflect the couple’s personalties.
“Our colors were mostly grey and rose. My bridesmaids wore mismatched rose and pink dresses, and my husband and his groomsmen wore grey suits with pink plaid ties,” the bride explained. “I wanted the wedding to be light and airy and these combinations seemed to be the most appropriate for that feel.”
The St. Petersburg couple are both natives to the area and embraced the concept of using local vendors for their wedding day including local wedding bakery The Artistic Whisk.
“We decided to do cupcakes for our guests and cake for my husband and I. Some guests have confessed on taking one of each flavor cupcake (there were three), since they were so good!” Tina raved.

With the assistance of St. Petersburg wedding planner Special Moments Event Planning the couple stayed on task, even when the weather caused some unplanned changes.
“I really needed someone who would push me to make decisions and stick with them,” the bride shared. “I hired Special Moments Event Planning because they were highly recommended. They did an amazing job readjusting our ceremony and reception since it rained that day, and we had originally planned an outdoor reception.”

Looking back, one of the bride’s most memorable moments was surprise from her husband during the reception.
“Collin mentioned that he was going to perform a song for me on our wedding day, and I had completely forgotten in the midst of all the chaos. During the reception he came out to a mic stand with his guitar and sang The Weight by Thrice. I was beside myself,” Tina reminisced. “He did so well, it’s something I’ll never forget.”
The Proposal:
Collin and I were going to be celebrating our four year anniversary, so we finally had a day off together. We slept in and before I had even woken up, he rolled over and put the ring on my finger! I sleepily said yes, and we celebrated with brunch and sharing the news with our friends.
How would you describe your theme?
The theme was casual rustic. Lots of soft colors and dainty lighting. I’m not a very girly-girl but I wanted my wedding day to be more feminine and my husband agreed so, why not?
What were your colors?
The colors were mostly grey and rose. I wore turquoise accents and shoes to be a little different. My bridesmaids wore mismatched rose and pink dresses, and my husband and his groomsmen wore grey suits with pink plaid ties. I wanted the wedding to be light and airy and these combinations seemed to be the most appropriate for that feel.
What did you look for in a wedding planner?
Most importantly we were on a budget, so we needed someone reasonably priced. I really needed someone who would push me to make decisions and stick with them!
I hired Special Moments Event Planning because they were highly recommended. I looked at their social media pages and was very impressed with their past events. The Special Moments team did an amazing job readjusting our ceremony and reception since it rained that day, and we had originally planned an outdoor reception.
What vendors exceeded your exceptions?
Our caterer and The Artistic Whisk. We decided to do cupcakes for our guests and cake for my husband and I. Some guests have confessed on taking one of each flavor cupcake (there were three), since they were so good!
