Rustic Tampa Bay Weddings
Blue and White Rustic Wedding | Cross Creek Ranch
Kristen and Clay’s rustic wedding at Cross Creek Ranch was bursting with country inspired details.
The bride wore a strapless, white wedding dress and bridesmaids’ royal blue dresses complemented the couple’s wedding colors of navy, gold and ivory. The groom and his groomsmen wore Levi jeans, button down shirts, and cowboy hats, true to the pair’s country style!
The pair’s outdoor wedding ceremony featured lanterns dangling in the trees, florals in wooden logs and a wooden altar decorated in draping and flowers.
Their open-air, barn wedding reception showcased the couple’s initials above the entrance. Guests tables were decorated with navy linens, gold chargers, white and blue floral centerpieces in painted mason jars and wooden slabs placed over lace table runners.

Peach, Navy Blue and Ivory Rustic Wedding | Barn at Crescent Lake – Old McMicky’s Farm
When thinking about the most important aspects of their Tampa Bay wedding, Sonia and Salvatore agreed that a loving atmosphere for their friends and family was essential.
“We are very active people and have a very close relationship with our family and friends. I wanted love to be shown and shared, not just between Sal and myself, but between everyone that attended. It was a day of love, and not just mine and Sal’s. Thanks to the love our family and friends have for each other, Sal and I are the people we are and that’s the reason we are together.”
To set the scene for their Tampa Bay wedding, the couple searched for an outdoor venue to host their rustic wedding.
“We wanted something with room to breathe in nature. Sal stumbled upon the Barn at Crescent Lake and immediately emailed me with the idea to check it out,” the bride shared. “I loved the barn theme and how beautiful autumn makes the outdoors look. “The outdoor scenery created such a romantic and intimate atmosphere, especially at twilight.”
To capture their most cherished moments, the bride and groom wanted a Tampa wedding photographer who understand their connection.
“We looked for someone who truly understood our relationship. I really stressed that we are a very close knit family and that we really wanted these pictures to reflect the love and devotion we all have to each other,” Sonia explained. “Jill and Joe [of Jillian Joseph Photography] were great at their photography, and they were amazing with their support. Sal and I really connected with them, and they were more than helpful!”
How would you describe your theme?
Rustic. We decided the rustic theme fit us more than a cliché wedding in a church. We loved the elegance and realistic feel of The Barn at Crescent Lake. Not to mention, the photography came out great! The outdoor scenery created such a romantic and intimate atmosphere, especially at twilight.
What were your colors?
Peach, navy blue and ivory. I really wanted peach, and I my husband could not help himself from choosing navy blue. We realized they matched, but we needed a third color to really pull it all together. The whites were too light for this time of the year, so we went with ivory, which turned out to match my dress. It blended well together, and the flowers we chose really made a difference when we added them into the décor.
What did you look for in a wedding photographer?
We looked for someone who truly understood our relationship, and by this I mean the one between my husband and myself and the one we have with our family. I really stressed that we are a very close knit family and that we really wanted these pictures to reflect the love and devotion we all have to each other. I also wanted more of a natural touch as opposed to the traditional poses. It boiled down to, can the photographer take pictures that will show the emotions going on and tell our story, so whenever we look at these pictures, we call all feel these emotions again?

Sal pushed for the wedding to happen quickly (he is a hopeless romantic) and we only had three months to plan it. The staff at the Barn at Crescent Lake was helpful, the vendors rapidly responsive and our families really came together for our wedding, which made the event run smoothly. We were so happy to have everything set up on time with no interruption. The staff allowed us to visit as needed and prepare the ceremony.
