Nothing says romantic like pastel hues, and Anita and Rabbie’s downtown St. Pete wedding combined rustic and modern elements creating a unique vibe.
“Our theme was as slightly rustic but soft and romantic. I wanted something somewhat simple and romantic that wasn’t too overstated,” the bride shared. “Our colors were rose and dusty blue. I wanted something soft and romantic that also fit in with the season.”
Anita’s wood flower bouquet coupled with modern elements like their geometric terrarium centerpieces resulted in a look that was reflective of the couple.
“We incorporated our personalities with unique song choices for the ceremony and with little details throughout,” the bride shared. “I feel like our wedding was unique in that it was very ‘us,’ and while some things stuck with tradition, we did some things our own way as well, which made it more special to us.”
For the Florida bride and groom, choosing where to get married was a no brainer.
“We have lived in St. Petersburg for the past four years. We chose the area for our wedding because we really just love downtown St. Pete and the whole feel of the city. It is very ‘us,’” the bride explained.
When it came to finding the perfect downtown St. Pete wedding venue, the couple found everything they were looking for in NOVA 535.
“We instantly fell in love with NOVA and immediately knew we wanted our wedding there. It was a beautiful venue with the brick, bamboo, and string lighting, and there was plenty of room,” Anita gushed. “Our wedding coordinator, Ruby, was amazing on the day of, helping in every way possible and making things run smoothly.”

Anita and Rabbie invested a lot of time researching St. Pete wedding photographers and selected Kera Photography.
“I loved Kera’s photography style, and after speaking with her on the phone I was decided. She ended up being one of the sweetest people I’ve ever met, and I loved having her as our photographer,” the bride shared. “Kéra Photography exceeded our expectations. I felt like she went out of her way to make us happy and help things run smoothly, and made us feel special on our day.”

Looking back, some of Anita’s most memorable moments included letting loose with bridesmaids pre-ceremony and celebrating with her guests post-ceremony.
“Taking photos before the wedding with the bridal party was fun and silly and took away the nerves of walking down the aisle. That, and everyone dancing together at the reception, which is what I was looking forward to most,” the bride reminisced.
The Proposal:
I planned a surprise party for my (now) husband’s 30th birthday. He had no idea and was absolutely surprised the night of. What I didn’t know was he had a surprise planned for me as well. He had planned on proposing to me on his birthday, which ended up taking place during his surprise party.
