Overlooking the beautiful water of Tampa Bay sits a hidden gem of an outdoor Tampa Bay wedding venue filled with lush tropical grounds. The newly renovated Godfrey Hotel & Cabanas Tampa served as the perfect location for this nautical chic wedding styled shoot. The waterfront Tampa wedding venue features a private dock, pool deck, floor-to-ceiling windows, elegant ballroom and of course, breathtaking sunsets.
The hotel’s outdoor pier served as an ideal backdrop for an intimate, elegant wedding ceremony featuring an organic arch layered with ombre blue balloons and soft greenery garland and ivory florals.
“The main inspiration [of the styled shoot] was the natural scenery of the venue. I wanted to incorporate the tropical foliage and waterfront landscape into the overall feel of the event,” Godfrey Hotel & Cabanas Tampa, former Catering Sales Manager Elizabeth Glosson shared. “We wanted the venue to have a fun tropical feel, while still being elegant.”
Fabric played a vital role in creating the nautical chic theme, with rental linens provided by Connie Duglin Linen.
“We were inspired by the light airy tropical feel of this venue, and we couldn’t resist bringing the outdoors in, accented with a hint of glam and romance,” event designer YJean Ligon shared. “Our guest tables were laced with crystal blue lamour tablecloths accented with silver sequin table runners and pool blue napkins. The sweetheart table was adorned with lush greens, thistle, hydrangeas, roses, and amaranths.”
Tampa Bay wedding photographer Grind & Press Photography and videographer Hatfield Productions captured all of the romantic details of this elegant, waterfront wedding inspiration shoot. While Nature Coast Entertainment Services created a romantic ambience by providing sparkler fountains, a custom GOBO lighting design and market lights.

The bride’s beach inspired wedding look was created by wedding hair and makeup artist Michele Renee The Studio and perfectly complement this outdoor, sunset wedding portraits.
A wedding isn’t complete without dessert and Tampa Bay wedding cake bakery designed a custom three-tiered geode crystal cake as a focal point in the reception room.
How would you describe the theme?
Nautical chic. We wanted the venue to have a fun tropical feel while still being elegant.
What were the colors?
Playing homage to the ocean’s varying shades of blue could not have been more appropriate. Our guest tables were laced with crystal blue lamour tablecloths accented with silver sequin table runners and pool blue napkins. While the head table was dressed in a pool blue tablecloth accented with a silver sequin runner as well crystal blue napkins. The sweetheart table could not be ignored; layered with a crystal blue lamour tablecloth overlaid with a silver sequin tablecloth complemented by pool blue napkins and adorned with lush greens, thistle, hydrangeas, roses, and amaranths.
