Christie and Krissy’s casual Clearwater Beach wedding paired breathtaking Gulf views with gorgeous decor resulting in a laid-back coastal vibe. Merging the beautiful beaches they grew up with and winter pastels, the brides chose a gray, light pink, and teal color palette to make their special day pop.
“We both wanted a theme that was relaxed and enjoyable for us and our guests. Specifically, the kind of wedding that welcomed crazy dance moves and bare feet,” Christie shared. “Our decorations were beach-themed and included everything from hibiscus to beach sand to little anchors with seating assignments.”

The searched for a waterfront Clearwater Beach wedding venue that offered epic views, great food, and an intimate space with lots of room to dance. Luckily, during the Marry Me Tampa Bay wedding venue crawl, Christie and Krissy fell in love with the Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach Resort and Spa.
“My Matron of Honor took me on the Marry Me Tampa Bay wedding venue crawl on Clearwater Beach and that is how we found our venue! We got to check out many of the major hotel’s on Clearwater Beach set up for weddings complete with signature cocktail tastings, food tastings, and bands/DJ’s playing. We had a blast!” Christie beamed.
Not only were the couple in awe over the rooftop, waterfront views, but they appreciated the level of service and peace of mind the hotel provided.
“We chose the Hyatt, specifically the sky terrace because it encompassed everything I didn’t know I wanted in a venue. I knew that I wanted intimate and private, but that was it. The sky terrace provided just that and added so much more to our list of ‘wants’ than we could have ever imagined,” the bride gushed. “During our search for a venue, it was most important to find somewhere that was very organized since we’re not micro-managers. We needed to trust that they had everything under control because we didn’t plan to oversee closely since we wanted to enjoy the little things instead. We let Roseli, the event planner at the Hyatt, do her job and she exceeded our expectations!”

Looking back on their wedding day, the couple reminisced about sweet memories that included their daughter fulfilling her role as flower girl.
“The most memorable moments were when our daughter completely missed the turn to throw flowers down the aisle because she was focused on walking toward me in the hallway. The whole crowd had to help her get back on track!” Christie gleamed. “Another one of our favorite moments was when Krissy prematurely said ‘I do,’ during her vows because of her excitement!”
What did you look for in a wedding venue?
It was most important that the hotel that we chose was organized since we are not micro-managers. We needed to trust that they had everything under control because we did not oversee closely since we wanted to enjoy the little things instead.

We chose the Hyatt Regency Clearwater Beach Resort and Spa, specifically the sky terrace because it encompassed everything I didn’t know I wanted. I knew that I wanted intimate and private, but that was it. The sky terrace provided just that and added so much more to our list of ‘wants’ than we could have ever imagined. Roseli, the event planner at the Hyatt, and her entire team were so detail oriented and made sure our special day was stress-free and flowed smoothly! We let Roseli do her job and she exceeded our expectations. I would highly recommend them. We made sure to find everyone the next day to personally hug and thank for making it so perfect!
The Proposal:
After a week of hiking in Colorado, our last hike was to the top of the Crags Trail, and Krissy asked her brother-in-law to take a picture of us on the highest point. Instead of posing for the picture, Krissy got down on one knee and needless to say, I got down there with her and, of course, said, “YES!”
How would you describe your theme/wedding design inspiration?
We both wanted a theme that was relaxed and enjoyable for us and our guests. Specifically, the kind of wedding that welcomed crazy dance moves and bare feet. Our decorations were beach-themed and included everything from hibiscus to beach sand to little anchors with seating assignments. We left theme and decoration all to fall into place the day of the wedding. My aunt, who is an artist in her own right, knows us better than a lot of people and decorated from her heart just hours before the ceremony! It came out more perfectly than either of us expected!
What were your colors?
Since neither one of us had a clear picture of what we wanted our wedding day to look like, we took the inspiration from the beach and the winter season and merged the colors. We opted for grays, light pinks, and teals to bring out our backdrop of the beach.
How did you incorporate you and your spouse’s personalities into the wedding?
We were the most laid-back brides I have ever met! This is good and bad in that we both thought about our guests having fun more than anything. We both hold our friends and family very closely so our whole goal was to enjoy them and our celebration where everyone could let their hair down!
What advice would you give to other Tampa Bay couples?
Enjoy the process, make sure all the most important things to you are taken care of by people you trust, love the vendors you choose, try to relax!
