Rooftops are always a sought-after wedding location and with more intimate wedding packages on the rise, couples can now celebrate atop the posh downtown St. Pete Birchwood hotel with views of Tampa Bay and Beach Drive.

Channeling the impending fall season and showcasing The Birchwood's newest micro-wedding offerings, this styled wedding shoot features a warm and cozy color palette with sunset views on their Ballroom Terrace, which seats up to 25 guests for dinner.

“The photoshoot was designed to promote the ‘Boutique by The Birchwood' packages, which are ideal for smaller celebrations ranging from 30-60 guests that occur Sundays-Thursdays,” Mary Barnett, Event Sales Manager at The Birchwood explained. “The ‘Boutique by The Birchwood' packages include flexible floor plan options for both ceremonies and receptions. For this styled shoot, we opted for an intimate open floor plan concept that allowed an easy flow from the ceremony into the reception. The layout featured a mix of indoor and outdoor guest seating. We really wanted to highlight the Ballroom Terrace as a dining option, not only for weddings but also for rehearsal dinners or post-wedding brunches.”

Shades of rust, gold, burnt orange, and olive appeared throughout the tablescapes and flora, and the event design paired the hotel's existing decor pieces and chic rental items.

“We went heavy on the Autumnal theme and color scheme and highlighted The Birchwood's gold banquet chairs, ceremony draping, and arch,” wedding planner Jessie Soplinski from Breezin' Weddings shared. “If couples are looking for ways to transform the space without breaking the budget they can really take advantage of what the venue already offers in their packages and add some simple elements like upgraded flatware, linens, and lighting.”

One of the favorite jaw-dropping elements from the photoshoot was the long feasting table fashioned on the Ballroom terrace featuring views of Vinoy Park and the neighboring marina.

“They have a great outdoor terrace perfect for a small and intimate 25-person seated reception,” Jessie remarked. “We focused on the flowers, lighting, and linens to really make the venue space come to life.”

Inside the ballroom, the showstopping focal decor piece was the greenery champagne wall from Outside the Box Event Rentals. The rental company also provided special decor details such as the gold flatware, chargers, outdoor lighting, table numbers, and sweetheart table arch.
