Alexa and Nick’s elegant downtown Tampa wedding boasted soft and romantic colors with sweeping views of the city skyline.
“We didn’t have a specific theme for our wedding. We just wanted it to be classy and elegant,” the bride shared. “Our colors were blush pink, gold, and ivory. We added greenery to the bouquets and table arrangements. We originally chose the colors because our wedding date was in March so we wanted something elegant and classy with a light color for spring. When we postponed the wedding to November, we decided to keep the color scheme because we already had everything in place.”
The local couple originally hails from the Northeast but chose to host their wedding in the city where they met. They sought an event venue that offered an elegant indoor setting for their 55 guests, with views of the city they called home.
“We wanted a venue that was classy, elegant and had great views. We also wanted to have the ceremony and reception at the same location and have them both take place indoors,” Alexa explained. “We chose The Tampa Club because it checked all the boxes of what we were looking for in a wedding venue. The views of downtown Tampa are incredible, and it helped tell our story of why we love living in the downtown Tampa area. Their food and service were outstanding.”
When the time came to find a Tampa wedding photographer who would capture their special day, the pair wanted someone with a great reputation who was also seasoned at shooting at their venue.
“We looked for a professional wedding photographer who had experience taking photos at our wedding venue. We chose Carrie Wildes Photography because they were a preferred vendor of The Tampa Club and after meeting with Carrie we knew we had to book them!” the bride gushed. “We were impressed with the responsive communication, Carrie’s personal approach, and the great reviews. She showed us examples of weddings they shot previously at The Tampa Club, which was so helpful. Carrie and Miriam were amazing to work with throughout the entire process.”
The whole celebration was so special that it was hard for Alexa to pinpoint a single favorite moment of the day.
“Everything about the day was memorable, special, and perfect. One moment that stood out to us was our first look that took place at The University of Tampa. It was special because we first met while attending college there and then it became the first place Nick saw me in my wedding dress,” Alexa beamed. “The ceremony was also memorable for us. We added personalized vows, and my uncle, who is also my godfather, officiated. Our after-party was unique and so much fun. We reserved a private charter on the Pirate Water Taxi after the reception. We had pizza from Eddie’s & Sam’s and drinks on the boat while we cruised for an hour on the river.”
The Proposal:
Nick proposed in the Dessert Room at Bern’s Steakhouse. We were celebrating our six-year dating anniversary. My favorite part of going to Bern’s was always the Dessert Room. We were in our own enclosed wine barrel, and when my dessert arrived, the outside of the plate had “Will You Marry Me?” written in chocolate. The next thing I knew, he was down on one knee and asked me to marry him. It was perfect.
What was your bridesmaid’s dress inspiration?
I chose Bella Bridesmaids because part of my bridal party lived in Massachusetts and the other in Florida.
Bella Bridesmaids had locations in both places which made it easy for the girls to get fitted and try on dresses. Their service was great, and their online showroom made it easy for the girls to order their dresses together.

Where did you spend your honeymoon?
We were originally going to Barbados for our honeymoon but due to COVID and travel restrictions, we decided to postpone it to next year. Instead, we went to the Florida Keys. We drove from Tampa and stayed in Islamorada and Key West. We chose to go here because neither of us had been and we wanted to go somewhere to relax and have fun.

What did you look for in a wedding DJ?
We looked for one that had great reviews. We wanted a DJ who would keep the dance floor going all night.
We decided to hire Grant Hemond & Associates because they were a preferred vendor of The Tampa Club and had amazing reviews. They allowed us to speak with a few of their DJs before booking to ensure we were comfortable with who was selected for our wedding. Before the wedding, our DJ had a thorough list of questions for us to answer. He went through each question with us, took our suggestions, and created a great playlist for each part of the night. Their service was amazing.
