Chelsea and Michael’s waterfront St. Petersburg wedding was the perfect combination of rustic woodland details and intimate tropical surroundings. Dripping with gorgeous floral and romantic decor, the bride and groom chose a dark green, burgundy and gold color palette.
“I really wanted the wedding to take place during a cool time in Florida because I had always dreamed of wearing a long sleeve dress with a lace back,” the bride explained. “As we know, Florida is hot most of the year, and a long sleeve dress could be a nightmare. With the long sleeve dress in mind, I knew I wanted my theme to be romantic, with tons of candles and darker colors. My dress truly was the inspiration for every other part of the wedding.”
Specifically looking for a venue that offered multiple gorgeous backdrops for photos, Chelsea and Michael chose Isla Del Sol Yacht and Country Club.
“I thought Isla Del Sol was wonderful on all accounts. Pictures were the most important thing, and our wedding venue delivered with their expansive grounds and variety of beach, golf, and water areas,” the bride shared. “I absolutely love the photo of Mike and me, hand and hand under the bridge along the water, and there would have been no other location to provide that option.”
The St. Pete couple knew they needed a DJ who could not only provide a wide variety of music but who could keep the dance floor alive all night.
“We heard a few demos from Breezin’ Entertainment, and we were sold. They were right in our budget, and we knew they could keep our guests happy and dancing all night,” the bride shared. “We loved that they were able to mix up the music and play songs that everyone enjoyed singing and dancing to.”
Looking back on their blissful day, the bride shared that some of her most cherished memories including dancing with friends and family and exchanging vows.
“Mike picked me up during the last song and kissed me, and we danced in a big circle with all of our friends and family. It was a heartwarming moment,” the bride gushed. “Our vows were also very special to me. Hearing Mike talk about shoes and mountain tops was a moment I’ll never forget. He was by my side the entire time and it made my heart full.”
The Proposal:
Mike surprised me on the Tampa Riverwalk after dinner and drinks at Haven. We were headed to the Grand Canyon the next day, and he knew I expected the proposal to come there. He completely surprised me by proposing the day before. It was totally unexpected, at sunset, after a wonderful dinner.
What did you look for in a wedding venue?
I wanted there to be a happy compromise between the beach and tree space for pictures. For us as a couple, pictures were the most important thing, and our wedding venue delivered with their expansive grounds and variety of beach, golf, and water areas.

I thought Isla Del Sol Yacht and Country Club was wonderful on all accounts. We chose this location for many reasons, however, I would say the biggest reason being their location and picture potential. I absolutely love the photo of Mike and me, hand and hand under the bridge along the water, and there would have been no other location to provide that option.
How would you describe your theme/wedding design inspiration?
I really wanted the wedding to take place during a cool time in Florida because I had always dreamed of wearing a long sleeve dress with a lace back. As we know, Florida is hot most of the year, and a long sleeve dress could be a nightmare. With the long sleeve dress in mind, I knew I wanted my theme to be romantic, with tons of candles and darker colors. My dress truly was the inspiration for every other part of the wedding.
What were your colors?
I chose dark green because I love the outdoors and the forest feel, burgundy because that goes well with the romantic look and theme that I was aiming for, cream for the table tops, gold for the accent, and a charcoal brown for the bridesmaids’ dresses. I think it went perfectly together and everyone looked wonderful!
What did you look for in a wedding DJ?
We wanted to keep the party going all night with a mix of oldies and new songs that everyone could sing and dance to.

Breezin’ Entertainment was recommended by our venue. We heard a few of their demos, and we were sold. They were right in our budget, and we knew they could keep our guests happy and dancing all night.
