Blue, Blush, and Silver “Classic Romance” Tampa Wedding | The Centre Club
Emily and Nick’s Tampa wedding incorporated vintage and modern elements to create their fairy tale, classic romance setting.
“I liked calling my theme “Classic Romance” during the planning phase of the wedding; I like a good balance between vintage and modern,” the bride explained. “I like the classic theme because it’s warm and cozy and the romantic feel of candlelight, but also the clean lines you find in a modern theme. The mixing of the two is a good representation of our personalities.”
The couple searched for Tampa wedding venue where their wedding would be the center focus and chose The Centre Club.
“We loved the fact that our party would be completely private, because we rented the whole place,” Emily shared. “Our wedding turned out to be exactly what we wanted, and I think it’s due to the fact that the Centre Club is more about making the bride happy, than creating a bunch of limitations on what you can do. For all of the ideas that I had, we found a way to execute them.”
The bride knew how she wanted her day to flow, but didn’t want to have oversee all the components of planning a wedding and hired Tampa wedding planner Oh So Classy Events.
“We hired a month of coordinator so that we could have peace of mind that all of our vendors were accounted for, to ensure the vision we spent so much time on would be executed well,” Emily explained. “Oh So Classy because were very responsive and reasonably priced, and our wedding turned out exactly as we planned. Having someone else in charge of breaking down and making sure the rentals got back to the right people was a bonus too!”
Although she had a tight decor budget, Emily’s blue and blush vision came to life with the help of Tampa wedding florist Andrea Layne Floral Design.
“[I looked] for someone who could clearly understand my vision, and help me to get there,” the bride said. “I spoke with a lot of florists who told me that my vision was bigger than my budget. Andrea [of Andrea Layne Floral Design] never once told me that I couldn’t get what I want. Instead, she told me how.”
To capture the important moments of her wedding day, the Tampa bride looked for a natural light wedding photographer.
“My biggest pet peeve in photography is overly edited photos. I looked for a photographer who takes beautiful pictures, not someone who edits beautiful pictures,” Emily explained. “When I saw Ailyn’s [of Ailyn La Torre Photography] work, I knew she would agree with me. Her skill in using natural lighting, and only doing very light photo processing after the fact, had me sold.”
What did you look for in a wedding florist?
Someone who could clearly understand my vision, and help me to get there.
I spoke with a lot of florists who told me that my vision was bigger than my budget. Andrea [of Andrea Layne Floral Design] never once told me that I couldn’t get what I want. Instead, she told me how.
What were the deciding factors for the venue you chose?
We loved the fact that our party would be completely private, because we rented the whole place. It was also very affordable, the food was great, and Melissa [The Centre Club venue coordinator] seemed very willing to help us make our vision happen and man, those views didn’t hurt either!
Our wedding turned out to be exactly what we wanted, and I think it’s due to the fact that the Centre Club is more about making the bride happy, than creating a bunch of limitations on what you can do. For all of the ideas that I had, we found a way to execute them.

The Proposal:
The proposal was really simple. There was a disaster at work that had me up for almost 36 hours straight. By the end of it, I was laying there crying from being so exhausted, and Nick was holding me, comforting me. He just reached over into his nightstand and pulled out the ring.
Suddenly, everything was better, and I knew that life would be easier (even when it was harder!) from then on out.
How would you describe your theme?
I liked calling my theme “Classic Romance” during the planning phase of the wedding. I chose this because I like a good balance between vintage and modern. I like the classic theme because it’s warm and cozy and the romantic feel of candlelight, but also the clean lines you find in a modern theme.
The mixing of classic and modern is a good representation of our personalities. We both like tradition, but we’re open minded people.
What were your colors?
I was working with more colors than most would recommend, but I think we pulled it off well. Silver, wedgewood blue, very pale blush, black, ivory and gold. My husband and I love the color blue, and starting out, ivory, blue, black, and silver were the main colors…turns out, there are very few flowers in blue! That’s how the pink/blush became a part of the mix.
I decided to add gold as one of the colors because my husband inherited his grandfather’s ring, which is gold, but my ring is white gold. I thought adding gold to the mix would be a cute play on that.
What advice would you give to other Tampa Bay Brides?
Don’t settle because of your budget…and look for decorations on Craigslist. Seriously, almost all of the candles in the room came from there. Sometimes, you’ll find a new wife who’s trying to get rid of all the stuff she used for her wedding, like me now. Her trash is your penny pinching treasure!
