Sara and Abel’s outdoor Sarasota wedding was a vision of tropical Florida charm with chic modern details, gorgeous waterfront views, and bright blue skies reminiscent of a postcard.
“We really wanted something that was classic yet formal, but that also could stand the test of time,” the bride shared. “For our color palette, we decided on black and white. I loved the simple elegance of the color combination and felt like it would be easiest with planning from afar. There may be 400 shades of pink, but black is pretty easy to pull off.”
Envisioning a stunning Sarasota wedding venue that offered it all, the Arkansas couple chose The Resort at Longboat Key Club for its breathtaking views and all-inclusive packages.
“We really wanted our out-of-town guests to enjoy the beautiful area I grew up in,” the bride shared. “I absolutely loved The Resort at Longboat Key Club for their location, gorgeous views, amenities, and the all-inclusive ability to plan the wedding from start to finish. Aside from the venue, our planner, Ayla, was always so helpful and helped make sure everything was executed to perfection!”

Looking for a glam squad that could nail her old Hollywood look, the bride turned to Marry Me Tampa Bay in search of the perfect makeup artist.
“I discovered LDM Beauty Group through Marry Me Tampa Bay and was more than pleased with my experience. Lindsay was by far one of my favorite vendors to work with,” the bride gushed. “Initially, I chose my trial with her because of all of the great reviews and stunning portfolio of photos that seemed to mimic the look I was wanting. After my trial, it was a sure thing. Her work was flawless, and her personality was so down to Earth. I couldn’t imagine having anyone else come to the resort to get me and my girls ready for the big day.”

Finding sweet, but subtle ways to let their personalities shine through, Sara and Abel ensured their friends and family had an amazing weekend filled with plenty of food and fun.
“At the end of the day, we really just wanted to enjoy an amazing weekend with all of our friends and family in one place. Most guests arrived early Thursday and stayed through Sunday, so we really felt like we had quality time with all of our favorite people,” the bride shared. “From our personalized wedding golf balls and tees to our unity ceremony, we wanted to make sure there were little details that truly embodied us as a couple.”
Reminiscing of their picture-perfect celebration, the bride and groom enjoyed organizing something extra special to give guests a peek of their love for another.
“I’m so glad we took the extra time to put together a photo slideshow during dinner,” the bride gushed. “It was a great way to include all of our guests and showcase a fun trip down memory lane.”

The Proposal:
Abel was still finishing up his rotations for pharmacy school and was headed back to Tennessee the following morning. We were supposed to meet his family for dinner, but when I walked into the restaurant, I was taken to an upstairs room that was filled with hundreds of flowers and photos of all friends and family that couldn’t be there. It was breathtaking for me. We celebrated with an intimate dinner and later met family downstairs for another celebration.
What advice would you give to other Sarasota area couples?
Consider a longer engagement; it truly made planning much simpler. Enjoy the process. It’s such a happy time! Take help whenever it’s offered. My mom became a wedding extraordinaire for us. Get the videographer! It’s a whole other view that you don’t get to see especially as the bride!
