We looked for a photographer who could work with our awkward selves. Taking formal pictures doesn’t come naturally to us, so we didn’t want to go overboard, but we wanted to make sure we captured some really nice ones!

I hired Dewitt for Love Photography for a multitude of reasons, but it really came down to our first phone conversation. Shannon Dewitt made me feel so comfortable talking with her, like we had been friends forever. She was open to all of our thoughts and ideas and assured me that she would take care of everything.

Shannon and Brandon Dewitt did such an amazing job, and I really couldn’t have asked for a better experience. They were able to go between my location and Chris’ location, making everything so seamless and easy. They also coordinated with our family friends to bring our dog to our photo location so we could get pictures with her, doing it all behind the scenes without causing me any stress, which was amazing.

We wanted someone who made us feel comfortable, since this was our most important vendor decision, and we spoke with dozens of photographers before deciding.

Personality and vibe were everything. We wanted a photographer who really understood who we are and could capture the day’s emotion, chaos, and fun without making it feel posed or forced. Photos and video were at the top of our priority list, so we knew we needed the best.

When it came time to plan the wedding, Shannon Kelly, my videographer, was my first hire. From there, we built our vendor team around vibe. Working in marketing, I know how important it is to have a strong, collaborative team, and that’s exactly what we had. Everyone clicked and made the day run effortlessly.

I am not the most photogenic person and am not comfortable in front of the camera, so I wanted to find a photographer who would provide direction but also help put me at ease. From our first call with Shannon and Brandon of Dewitt for Love Photography, we knew we hit the jackpot!

We loved them and their portfolio! They are truly wonderful people, and we had so much fun with them. You can tell how passionate they are about capturing these moments. They are incredibly talented in addition to being amazing individuals.

I loved that their photos were unique, not just the same photos you see everyone do. Their creativity, kindness, and passion are unmatched. We feel so lucky we were able to have them capture our day and take our engagement photos.

It was really important that our photographer’s style matched what we were looking for aesthetically (filters, film, black and white, static vs. dynamic), and that they could provide good coverage.

We loved that Dewitt for Love Photography did a mix of film and digital photography, traditional portraits, and more editorial shots, and that they had two people shooting at once so we could get all-day coverage from all angles. They made us and our guests feel comfortable and confident throughout the day, were on point with the timeline, and had quick delivery.

I didn’t want anything to look too staged or contrived. I was looking for photography that felt authentic and not just the same rinse and repeat.
